Combined postage discount

Can someone help me do it properly. Customer support doesn't seem to understand what is on the page when you list items and that there is a spot for combined postage discount.

If someone purchases two items, I can send it for the same price as only sending one item - in other words they won't pay postage on second item. so $1.20 for two

If someone purchases three items, it will cost $2.40 and four item purchased they won't pay postage it will be still $2.40.

Sorry for being confusing but not sure how to word it.

When you create the invoice enter the postage amount to be paid and then send.

DO NOT click on recalculate

I mean for all my listings. As they are all buy it now items and want to be able to put it on when they go through check out

I'm not 100% sure on this, but in the postage section when listing, select add or remove options. Then tick the box, show combined postage discount and save.

This will either auto combine postage OR it will only show discount after you combine and send invoice.

Someone might be along to give the exact info soon.

You need to create postage discounts and apply them to the listings in question, but you options are limited and it's not quite possible to do 1 or 2 for $1.20, then 3 or 4 for $2.40, as your options are limited to either adding a pre-set amount for each additional purchase, discounting by a pre-set amount for each additional purchase, utilising a postage cap (i.e. maximum amount payable), or free postage if a certain dollar value is reached or a certain quantity is purchased.

In this case, you may want to split the difference and say add 40c for each additional purchase - if someone buys two, they'll be charges $1.60, if someone bys 3 it will be $2.00, and 4 @ $2.40 - so basically you'd "win some, lose some" but hopefully even out. The only other option is to invoice manually post-sale.

You can also use two different rules to do something like 25% off the postage total for each additional item up to a maximum of X amount.

Be sure that, if you create postage rules, you don't apply them to other listings wherre it wouldn't be appropriate, as sometimes the box will be auto-checked.

Or you can spell it out in the description/TOS space, and ask people who buy multiples to wait for the correct invoice before paying.
