Sold An Item 30th December No Payment Yet

Hi All I sold an item on 30th December 2013 Buyer asked for 2 weeks to pay which I gave him 15 th Janruary item still not paid I openen a NPB with Ebay.. I contacted the buyer today and asked hm when payment can be expected. I received message that he "Says" he is in hospital and will not be out for another week. My query is How long can I let this ride before Ebay say I cannot claim a Final Value Fee Refund.

If you have opened an NPB and the buyer does not respond to itwithin 7 days the case will close and you will get your FVF's back. The transaction is then finished and you can relist the item. You have wasted enough time.

eBay will automatically close a case 36 days from the date of the sale, and if that happens no FVF is credited. If the sale was on 30th December, the case will close in early Feb. if no payment or not manually closed.

Thanks Digital_Ghost I knew there was a time frame but I wasnt sure what it was OK I will give him another week they I will request a FVF if he doesn't Pay by then. I will let him know now,, Thank You

That's for a mutual cancellation. Which the 'buyer' has the option of refusing. A NPB case has to be closed by the seller to get a FVF refund.

OK what is the time frame to recover my FVF I hope that make's it easier as to my concern.I have openen the NPB already now I am asked for another week... I can close it now and get the FVF Return but I honestly know what to do. How long Will ebay let me keep this record before They close it? He has until 23rd Janraury to pay Then I will close it. Will That still be within the Time Frame.???

I would close it now. I try not to cater to timewasters.

You can leave it longer. I'm fairly sure, without looking it up on the SITE MAP, that the critical point is 36 days from 'sale'.;

I cant close it now as I have alredy told him he has until 26th to Pay. After that I will close it. He already bought 1 item for $1.50 the day before he purchased this item from my store. This item is $35.00 Big difference in price but I have messaged him what more can I do,

Wait until the 26th then. Which is a Sunday. If he can pay on Sunday he could presumably pay on Friday? Or admit he will actually pay on Tuesday? As Monday is a Public holiday.

I would be closing the case, as I don't tolerate timewasters. Depernding on where in the 30 day cycle the book was due to relist.

My sister & I both sell on Ebay

If we could have a dollar for every non paying buyer that say's

sorry I'm in Hospital we would make more money with this line used, than selling our items lol....

Non paying buyers come up with a new line this is running old.....
