Are you familiar with the various prepaid, flat rate or ebay postage label options?

It makes life a lot easier! Some of your toys look quite collectible to me and may

travel better in boxes (you can get special flat rates through ebay). Even the big

Bx4 boxes are around $15 flat rate Australia wide processed through ebay.

If you use the calculated option, that will show the postage cost to the postcode of the member that purchases or looks at your listing.

And in the International section select No International postage.

Now go to resolve a problem and send a mutual cancellation in which the buyer needs to accept.

When he does, you get your fee credited back and you are free to relist.

You can send a 3kg Satchel anywhere in Australia for $11.70. A 500 gm Satchel will cost $7.15 with ebay postage label a little more with Aus Post prepaid satchels.

If you are sending the parcel registered (this is your Paypal protection) then why should your buyer pay for your protection.

Unfortunately it is against ebay Policy to ask for more money after the auction has finished so your options are:

Send the parcel at the winning price and postage.

Agree to cancel the transaction and hope you don't get a red dot.

the point is you are suppose to have correct postage in the listing. You are not allowed to add on postage if you miscalculate it. I would be peeved to if I was the buyer.
Get a set of scales, weigh the items and set up your postage as calculated. The buyer will then see the postage based on their location.

Some of your postage is way expensive. You could send a lot of what you are selling for $7.50 + 1.20 tough bag with some bulbble wrap.

If the item genuinely is mint then it is in the best interests of the seller to package it in such a way that is more likely to arrive in the same condition, and this may mean using a sturdy box.

That would HALVE the cost of postage you have on the listing and you wouldn't have to worry about messing around getting different quotes afterwards (not to mention making it look more affordable is going to entice buyers...)

I made a mistake once with postage and I just sucked it up! We are all only human but I thought since it was my error and not the buyers I pay for it. That is how I learnt too be more careful and check my listings, I remember it everytime that I paid for my mistake.

However the customer was so nice to me after they got the item, messaging me saying they noticed they didn't pay enough in postage, and even offered to pay afterwards because they thought I was a decent seller because I paid for my mistake. Of course I refused to take the $5.20 I was out and this customer has returned several times and bought more items off me. So in the end paying for my mistake was a benefit as I got a loyal customer.

It is probably too late now but you should do the right thing and send the item for the quoted postage amount. Many ebayers woud refuse your mutual cancellation thinking quite correctly that as you had done the wrong thing you deserved to lose the final value fee. They wil probably most likely leave you a neg as well.

It may be a good idea if you belatedly went and read up on the ebay policies as related to seling on ebay.

i can send anything up to 3kg to anywhere in Australia for $12.00.

As has been noted, postage is not supposed to be a lottery for the buyer. If you quote a postage cost, you honour it. if you don't know how to set postage costs, you ask here (and get people like me bagging you, but ultimately giving you facts), or you use eBay's postage calculator.

HOWEVER, if the item will fit in a 3kg satchel, even Australia Post's standard satchel goes for $13.40.
