Is It Just Me?

Is anyone else having issues with the forum tonight, or is it just me? I'm having trouble getting messages to load, I keep getting 'webpage not available'. It seems to be sporadic.

We had a direct lightning hit on Saturday and I thought it may have fried the router. I got it working again by replacing the phone cable between the router and the wall (the strike blew the surge protector board up.....literally). It seems to have been working fine since.

Tonight, every other page I look at is working fine, except these forums, so wasn't sure if it was just me having router issues, or whether it's a site issue.

Ebay has been slow to load pages since 1640 hours here and keeps dropping out. Another GLITCH we will no doubt be charged for.

I've had no issues with eBay itself, just the forums. I've even had a few sales tonight!!

As you may notice, the original message now seems to have posted twice. Maybe when I got the flood message it must have actually posted, even though I only pressed the button once. The duplicate message makes mention of the flood message I got. That probably explains it, this message got posted even though it didn't go through as such.

Thank goodness! I didn't really want to have to buy a new router! I haven't has this one for that long.

Hopefully it will come good later. Being at work all day, I have a lot of messages to catch up on!!!

The forum is blardy awful right now. 😕 I reckon, if I'm lucky, I can get 1 page to load for every 10-15 times I try.

I'm going to do a celebratory dance if I can even get one of the posts I'm trying to make to actually post, then I'm outta here to go calm myself with less frustrating things, like

I actually meant to finish that sentence... Saw my chance to post and I took it, forgetting that I didn't get the full post autosaved last time LOL (if the post autosaves, it will go up, if I get a red error saying "can't complete action", I'll lose it)

I've had timeout errors here since around 1700 this afternoon, but only on the discussion boards. Other parts of eBay such as My eBay, etc., appear to be running at normal speed. These continuous site problems with eBay are getting really old and my patience is wearing very thin at the moment. I'm having to save every post before sending it in case it times out and I lose it. So far I've had to resend the same message several times and I'm really starting to wonder about the competence of eBay's techs. Or maybe they simply don't have sufficient infrastructure to handle the loads any more. Whatever the reason, I wish they'd get it sorted once and for all.

Likewise, only on discussion boards.

I tried to post this last night but wouldn't work, kept timing out.

I even started a thread on it in Community Spirit.

Yes I had similar troubles last evening too. Just with the community boards. Rest of eBay seemed fine.

Attempts to view messages on the Discussion Boards were still timing out as late as 0700 AEDST when I finally gave up in disgust after having tried everything possible (changing browsers, etc.). Came back on line at 1000 AEDST and things appear to be back to normal.

I've no idea what the problem was and will likely never know, but it's simply not good enough and unless eBay do something to prevent these far too frequent site issues their already stuffed reputation will suffer even further. I've already given up buying on eBay and I'm only one step away from giving up selling as well.

It's not as if it would make much difference anyway as my sales have fallen to an all-time low over the past few weeks, when at this time of the year they should be through the roof. I genuinely believe that eBay is a lost cause and it's now simply a matter of who intends going down with this rapidly sinking ship.

I've only just sat down now at 7.20pm (Sydney/Melbourne) time. Maybe they were breaking something again because it seemed to be working again. Nothing would surprise me.

If it ain't broke.....lets break it!
