PayPal New Look!

Just saw the new layout when you log onto Paypal. It's been updated since they introduced the new fees.

It looks ok updated but I don't like how you can't tell which payments have been sent through ebay. Can't really tell properly which payments need to pe posted.

Luckly you can still go back to the old format. Hopefully they don't force you to use the new layout. No need to fix what isn't broken.

What are your guys thoughts on the new PayPal layout?

I like some bits, dislike other bits.

It's nice and easy to read, and the + figure shows the nett amount from the payment, but it took me a little while to get to where I was trying to (in the end, I had to search help, view a topic and click links from there).

I also noticed my balance is now "estimated". (based on currency conversions, so says PP, but I only ever receive AUD, so my balance shoould be exact, right down to the cent. ).

Classic Version tab at the bottom keeps going back to new version each time.

Can't say I'm overly impressed. There's insufficient information at hand with the new version so I've reverted to the "classic" version. I just hope it stays that way and I don't have to change it each time I log in, as that would annoy the hell out of me.

I am not too happy with the new layout, primarily because the amount displayed is AFTER the PP fees have been deducted. I search for payments based firstly on amount, as not everyone has the same PP account name as the buyer (e.g. spouse's name). I had to go into each payment to double check that the correct amount had been paid. I responded to their feedback question outlining this. I didn't know you could revert back to the original layout which I will be doing from now on.

I found this way to get back to the old display...

Activity --> Statements --> Basic Search.

From here you can get your CSV downloads etc like you could before.

I will set up a shortcut button that can get me to this place when I log in as I don't like the changed display stuff at all.

I just selected Classic version and went back to that. Much Easier no Hyper Sprinkles 🙂

You can only go back two years with the new version. With the old version I could go back to when I first opened my paypal account in early 2004. While the information is still accessible through the classic version, I wonder how long that'll be the case. I've been reconstructing old records and it looks like I'd better finish the job while everything is still available.

I found the dates really hard to read because of the format. They didn't "flow". Okay if you're only checking your latest payment receipts but not for anything else. There's also far too much space between the left and right hand columns, and between each entry.

I see we've now got a stupid bell for notifications on paypal as well.

I just wish the banks would come up with something similar to paypal and give them a bit of competition - maybe even an easier way of accepting credit card payments than having to go through the rigmarole that shops do. Surely if you can use your credit card to do a guest payment through paypal, then the banks can come up with something where we can accept credit card payments directly.

Just signed in to paypal and there's no sign of the new format. Maybe they got enough abuse that they came to their senses, but unlikely.

I paid for an item this morning and it was on the new format (on a laptop) - I tried to click on "tell us what you think" and nothing happened, probably 'cos they don't like my "constructive criticism"..................!!!!!!

"edit" they must really hate me and are forcing the new one on me then....................

I don't particularly mind the New Look...

I DO mind being told about it every single time I log in to PayPal, and having to click through to get to my account details!

I just logged into both of our accounts and they have both reverted to the old format. Much better.

Perhaps they got the message.
