You must be getting a good commission fromEbay. Did you even read my post? When I requested cancellation due to incorrect item. within 5 minutes of the purchase I might add, I was advised that the seller was unable to cancel the purchase because she had posted it to me two days earlier.. Ebay advised me that there was a problem in their system, and to contact the seller, who advised me that she couldn't cancel the transaction either, because Ebay was telling her that she had posted it to me two days earlier. If you can't make constructive comments, then please refrain from making any.

I purchased an item at 1.43pm Qld time today. I had purchased the wrong item. At 1.48pm, I requested cancellation of the order. Within about a minute or so, I received a message from Ebay telling me that the sender had refused to cancel the order because she had already posted it on 12 October! I had a lengthy chat with Ebay, who could not resolve the issue and told me to contact the seller and request a refund. I contacted the seller, who advised me that she tried to cancel the order but Ebay would not let her because she had already posted it on 12 October. She did not even list it until 13 October. I have now raised a dispute with Paypal, as far as Ebay is concerned, they can do nothing as the item has already been posted!!

Irrespective of the timing discrepancies, the seller is under no obligation to accept your cancellation request.

The seller can deny the request, and does not have to give a reason.

Seller is fully within their rights not to cancel and Ebay cannot force the seller to do so.

It's possible that they had another cancellation request and got mixed up, but in reality, sellers do get pretty fed up with buyers asking to cancel as soon as they purchase.

Has tracking been uploaded to the transaction?

You've been here more than 20 years, so you would know that you should wait until the last day of the ETA has passed and then open a formal dispute with Ebay. Why did you raise the issue with PayPal? You first should have gone through Ebay, but you needed to follow the guidelines. Paypal is a backup, not first line of defence.

eBay do not read here, nor pay members to comment, any more than they paid you a commission to make your snarky reply

and eBay staff read from a script to get of the person contacting them as fast as possible

sometime what they read is correct. most times, it ain't
