Question Charges in PayPal & Payments

Hi There, I had an issue with connecting a bank account to my Ebay account and I could not do so. so I asked helpdesk which could not help and gave me wrong info anyway. I was informed that i will be charge $2.00 for this service which is refundable. Now I see a charge of $68.00 on my credit card.

Could you please advise what is this for and when it will be refunded.

Other members have no way of knowing what the $68 was for nor when or if it will be refunded

What does it say the charge was for?

If you did not authorise a $68 charge, have you notified your bank?

Are you sure it was indeed the 'real' eBay help desk you were dealing with?

eBay don’t charge for customer service!

They do not have a “helpdesk”.

You have probably given your card / bank information to scammers.

As for entering your bank account information in your eBay account to enable you to sell and be paid, read the actual Help links on eBay, which I’ll link below.

And… in future, don’t just google for eBay help; you’ll find all sorts of rorts and scams that purport to be eBay help, but eBay help is actually on the eBay site. https://www.eBay.com.au/help (or go to https://www.eBay.com.au and scroll down to bottom of page for the link to “Help”)… and for community help on these legitimate eBay Community boards, it’s here (https://community.eBay.com.au - or at the bottom of the main eBay site you’ll see the link to Community or Discussion Boards or Answer Centre - all will bring you to this area where you can browse between the different “community” areas where we post, share, give advice – and at NO TIME would you give credit card information or payment of any sort, or your personal details such as name, phone, email, etc.

I also suggest you call your bank and get that charge reversed if you didn’t authorise it.

As already advised, contact your bank immediately if you didn't authorise a charge of $68 to your credit card.

Do you mean you contacted eBay through eBay Help as shown at the top and the bottom of the page ..... or not ?

Are you referring to verification of your account using two microdeposits ?
