revise gtc listings

I have a couple of GTC listings active. I have variations on these listings and they have had sales.

They have had quite a bit of interest and so have lots of views and watchers.

I have received some new stock of these items that require additional variations to be added. I cannot see how I can add variations to an active listing.

I can see how I can add variations to my templates but if I do that I would have to cancel my existing listings and re-list from the changed templates so that the new variations show up.

But to do this would loose all my views/watchers and sales records on the item and hence loose rankings in the search results.

Is there a better way I can make these changes without loosing the interest info from these items?
