How can I avoid the final fee charge when I have cancelled the transaction sale?

Hi all,

I have listed and item to sell and my mom decided to retain the item. Before I could take them down, a buyer bought it. I quickly cancel the order and messaged the buyer to appologise for the incovenience. The buyer has not paid for it but now Im left with a $150 charge of final fee charge.

How can I go about avoiding this fee? I know it's my fault to put out the ad too quickly and mom wanted the item back.
