Question FUNDS ON HOLD in Selling on eBay

I have been trading on ebay for more than 20 years and like many other sellers I have something to say about the ebay policy of holding funds until an item has not only been posted but has been confirmed as delivered. When ebay introduced this policy they sent an email to all sellers basically telling them that if they did not like this policy then ebay would be happy for them not to sell on ebay. Ebay seem to have forgotten that their customers are not actually the buyers their customers are the sellers as the sellers pay all the fees. Funds are often "on hold" for weeks and sometimes months so who do you think is making interest on all that money ? Ebay of course. I had an international transaction recently and the postage cost me approx $150. I had to pay for the postage upfront and then wait to get my money back along with the proceeds from the sale of the item. As ebay now state, if you don't like their selling policies then don't sell on ebay and I am sure this is what many long time sellers will now do.

Wrong. It is illegal for ebay to use any funds on hold for any purpose. Hence they do not make a single cent from money on hold.

If you have any evidence or proof to the contrary, please post it here.

Sellers have had 4yrs to decide to leave, if they don't like this policy,

eBay cannot put the money into interest yielding accounts. Australian law.

As a member with 20 years experience, I doubt that this is your main selling account. 46 FB?

If you have, almost certainly, been SLAPped for not keeping up with eBay's T&Cs, I doubt that eBay will miss you when you take your couple of listings to sites with far less reach and likelihood of sales.
