i logged on ebay and had a notice on my page telling me i qualified for a gift.

i had to do a survey about kitchen wares and would get my gift.

i did the survey and told i had to pay $3 for delivery.

after all of that, i get a big email the next day from a different (parent company-see below?) telling me i'd subscribed to something foreign to me at a cost of $103 per fortnight.

so i had to cancel my card and close my account so as i am not chasing my money, thanks very much EBAY,,,,,, NOT

How to avoid scams? Don't click on random links in eBay, or do any surveys. Simples.

Same problem , scam was ssociated with Ebay not random. How can you get Ebay to respond ?

If it is about the third party ad this thread is about, once again it is NOT from eBay

These scam ads are on numerous sites

It does'nt mean go ahead, click on them, provide the scammers with your details and then 'blame eBay'

I had THREE emails yesterday telling me I had won Tupperwear. Same scammer (different 'prize') I do not use eBay with that email address

And a site I was using this morning, same ad at the side, not an eBay related page

eBay are not going to do a thing

IF you choose to give the scammers your credit card info, despite all the warnings here on the forum and numerous other places, you first concern is contacting your bank and telling them, so thy can cancel your card

And then get your computer/phone/device checked by professionals for any potential malware/downloads et

The company that somehow piggybacked on the offer can be searched on Google and the membership cancelled

And you are going to want to do more than that , if this is the 'free gift' scam ad the thread is about. If you have given your card details to the scammers THIS thread is about, there is no 'somehow piggy backing' involved. It is a scam posted /warned widely about .
