Why does ebay allow such a group to advertise within it's pages - I have been "SCAMMED" by this group as has many others - https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/cotosen - they are being and have been investigated for a number of Fraudulent activities - will ebay cover my loses for this groups unethical practices - shame on you ebay you should remove all their ads from your service pages - OR you should hold yourself responsible for the scams this group is guilty of. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY - ebay should investigate and stop them from soliciting on their pages. -

·1 year agoThe original complainant has a point. The ad may not be for an ebay seller, but it does appear on an ebay site. I found this discussion because I clicked on just such an ad (and Firefox did not prevent me from seeing the ad). My PC alerted me to possible problems because it blocked "certain features" of the site.
While the host, whether ebay or a tv channel, may not be responsible for the content of an ad or the behaviour of the advertiser, they surely have a responsibility not to broadcast false advertising.
However, I am writing from the UK where broadcasters are bound by regulation and advertisers can be fined. The web does not have such regulation. Nevertheless, assuming that Cotosen have not hacked ebay, ebay must know of the existence of their ads and there is the moral question of the rightness or wrongness of ebay taking money from problematic sites or known scammers.

Choose to follow through once in the scam ad
Choose to give their money and details to a scammer
Wanted to blame everyone else for it

·1 year agoSo you are saying they should not publish any ad's. Almost every ad on tv is borderline false or just tipping the border of falseness. Car dealers, real estate, super markets, the list goes on, if what you say is true, there would be no advertising.

·3 years agoWell I am going to be no help either. The link you have posted is for cotosen.com ..... No mention of ebay.
Seems you have clicked on an add, which would be placed by a third party agency that simply buys and utilizes bulk advertising space.
You have the option to view adds or not.
If you still wish to claim the sale was via ebay, please advise the listing number, at least that will give you the pleasure of knocking me off my chair.

Likely the same rubbish is on many many websites
Just because it is there, does not mean you have to click on it
And since you have all this information about their 'activities' why then go and help them keep doing it
Don't support scammers and then blame everyone else
You clicked on an ad, simply because it was 'there'
eBay are highly unlikely to read your post
Take responsibility for your own choices

Do you seriously think anyone employed by eBay, or paid as some kind of 'contractor' for eBay is going to read your post?
No they are not
I suggest you need to take your own advise as far as waking up goes

·3 years agoBecause I use Adblock Plus I don't see any of those ads.
I'd suggest you use it as well for the future - it's a built-in feature for Firefox but can be downloaded for other browsers.
"will ebay cover my loses for this groups unethical practices". Nope, you made the choice to use them, a supplier that is not an eBay seller.

OP3 years agoReally - if I let someone advertise on my front fence and it was a scam - who are they going to go after - ebay has the control to stop these PAID ads - wake up peoples -

OP3 years agoNo help at all - find something better to do to use your time - Ad Blocker is your solution - they sell through ebay.

·3 years agoNo, they do not sell through eBay and if you used an adblocker you would never have seen that ad in the first place.
YOU bought off their website, as Sandy said YOU are the one that needs to wake up.
And no, I don't work for eBay either...................

OP3 years agoI dealt directly with my bank on this as ebay seems limited in to what they are prepared to do to stop the seller from doing this - My bank actually makes the payments to ebay - easily sorted.
