Ebay International shipping refund
Hi - any insight would be appreciated. I received the wrong item from a seller in the US. When notified, seller immediately refunded the price of the item but only a portion of the International Shipping cost (which was actually more than the item excluding tax) to Australia. On seller's side, it shows they have provided a full refund. Am I eligible for a refund for the remaining amount (which comes up to about 15USD), and is it eBay or the seller who should refund the amount? - Thanks

OP1 year agoThanks everyone for the advice. For future notice - what needs to be done in this situation is, get in touch with seller who will be able to give you a partial refund. Following this, get in touch with ebay who will then refund the remaining amount for shipping - I managed this through the chat box and eventually speaking to a rep. Bear in mind, it can take a while before they get back to you but in the end - if it's a clear cut case, no further questions asked and refund provided.

If through eis, then the seller refunded what you paid them. The shipping would have gone to eBay.
No idea how to resolve this as I don't use eBay for International purchases.

OP1 year agoYes, it was through Ebay international shipping with a discrepancy of seller's cost for shipping = 4 USD vs. my cost for shipping = 20 USD. So if I understand correctly, sounds like 16 USD of my shipping cost went to Ebay and I need to chase them for that portion of the refund if I'm eligible for it?

·1 year agoYes, you will need to chase it up with eBay, but because you didn't open a formal dispute over the item it's going to be hard to get that refund.
