How to get your funds that are on hold with eBay
Summary: je5310 is facing an issue with eBay funds held up due to not receiving a required six-digit code from a buyer who collected an item. Despite having CCTV evidence of the collection, they are unsure of how to proceed as the buyer has not responded to emails. sandypebbles advises against contacting the buyer excessively and suggests ensuring full enrollment in Managed Payments. *casey* explains the process and advises waiting up to 31 days for payment if the code is not provided, ensuring that account details are verified and signed up for managed payments.
Hi, I am new to eBay and foolish didn't read all the information clearly before arranging for an item to be picked up for me that I sold last Sunday. I realise now that the buyer should have provided with a six digit code for me to put into the sale which would confirm to eBay that the item had been collected and for them to release the funds to me. I emailed the buyer several times since Sunday and he is not responding. I have proof that he collected the item as I have CCTV cameras and I have the footage of him. Does anyone have any advice to share on what I can do please?

"I realise now that the buyer should have provided with a six digit code for me to put into the sale"
Yes, it's the buyer's responsibility and the buyer should have given you the code at pick up.
Hopefully the buyer will respond to your messages soon, giving you the code
The pick up code also helps prevent a dishonest buyer from opening an item not received claim.
If you don't receive the code and as long as you're verified with both your personal and bank account details and signed up for managed payments:
Instead of receiving the funds a few days after the code's been entered, you'll need to wait up to 31 days for payment. When the funds become available, you'll need to request a payout. The funds won't be transferred to your bank account automatically.

·1 month agoWhy are you emailing the buyer? that is not going to help, and you may well find the buyer reports you if keep spamming them
CCTV cameras are not going to proof of anything (not accepted by eBay in any case)
Have you fully completed sign up and verified your bank and ID for Managed Payments?
As it has only been a few days and you are a new seller, your funds will be on hold in any case, and certainly not be released early given the buyer has not so much as left positive feedback yet
You need to
Make sure you are fully signed up to Managed Payments first and foremost
