How to open a new return case after closing an incorrect one?

I received an item that broke out of the box, so I contacted the seller for a refund. He agreed to one on the condition that I change the return reason to "Doesn't fit". I couldn't find a way to change the reason in the return case so I thought I could just close this case and open a new return case, but once I closed it, the item disappeared from my purchase history, and now wouldn't let me open another case. Now I'm scared that the seller wanted me to close the case to avoid going through proper channels. Is there anything I can do?

Furthermore, “doesn’t fit” is a whole other ball game. That’s not a refund/return based on the item being damaged (INAD or SNAD, meaning it’s not as described and the seller MUST refund you and pay for return postage), but rather it’s a COM (change of mind/buyer’s remorse) reason, and the seller may not even have to accept the return and pay for return postage or even refund you.

As the other posters have said, never close a case until it is fully resolved to your satisfaction (that is, the refund is done and dusted).

I returned an item because it was the wrong one that I chose but they will accept the idea to return it then I went through the post office not eBay and returned it without a tracking number so when it got there they wouldn't accept that it's been returned so someone open a case .but I didn't open the case and not did I close it. every time I spoke to eBay they seem to just go mad at me and made it out there was something to do with me and that they weren't going to refund me . I also have dyslexia and don't understand things I no longer like eBay because they're just like every other business they don't particularly want to help anybody. See either.

Fgs... just stop  with the false information.

YOU had the protection that eBay provides yet decided to close the case.

Take some responsibility for your own failures.

    You were not ripped off

You closed the case, which told eBay you were happy with the outcome

    Abuse all you want

You had buyer protection, you chose to forgo it. Your choice

You don't get to do your own thing and then expect eBay to cover you anyway

No matter how many times you post the same thing

eBay are not going to have any idea if you use the site or not

Sorry, but it is never a good idea to close a case before an issue is resolved.

I hope you paid via PayPal, and if you did and can open a case in their resolution centre, do not close it if the seller makes some new unsubstantiated promises.

In that case open a payment dispute.

And stop replying to old posts.

eBay will be very reluctant to reopen a case that you've closed. Your only chance is to go to "ebay help" at the top of the page than scroll down for contact options, as soon as you can, ask to speak to a supervisor and show them the messages from the seller. They might reopen the case but you'll be fighting an uphill battle to get them to do it.

Wondering "how many times he's done that" will not help you with a refund.

How does one "accidently" close a dispute?

What was the reason for the dispute?

Looks like you will have to resort to your payment/credit provider to receive a refund.

You closed the dispute now you go on about Ebay being a problem.

You by closing have told Ebay all is OK.

Did you read Sellers f/back before purchase?  I doubt it.

"the seller told me after I payed for the car that he's not sending it he's got that money"

It is still showing in the seller's sold items but your feedback mentions the seller 'cancelled ' it on or after the 6th September.

If the seller cancelled the transaction, you would be refunded.

The payment would go to your original funding source and could take several days to show.

IF this is what happened, have you checked  for the refund ?
