I bought a battery for a hp laptop . I went with a seller who offered a 12 month warranty . The battery only lasts 15 minutes before dying and the 12 month period is nearly up The seller has not responded to my concerns and not sure what to do next .It cost about$46

·2 years agoYou’re right. It’s a nice tasty laptop in batter, to be served with fried Arm-based chips and some data dumpling - er, dumping.

·2 years agoWorrying.
Australia urgently needs significant resources to deal with data protection; it’s a problem that’s only going to get worse.
Buyers should still be buying batteries locally. Don’t provide any unnecessary information when buying; that’s probably the best we can do as individuals.

Might taste better than battered Mars bars.

·2 years agoon another matter, be careful buying 3rd-party batteries for items you keep in your house.
Using non-genuine batteries may void your building insurance in the event of a fire caused by the item with the non-genuine battery.
If it doesn't void insurance, it may dramatically reduce payouts.

·2 years agoif the battery worked OK until recently, then it cost about $1/wk, or 14c/day.
Not bad value.
Please dispose of the battery in the correct manner. I take mine to Total Tools as they have a battery collection bin for old batteries.

·2 years agoI take mine to my local shopping centre. They have bins for electronics and batteries.

·2 years ago(yeah, but I use it as an excuse to go to Total Tools, and buy something new while there. What can I say ... I am weak)

·2 years agoI'd love to get a genuine battery with a 12 month warranty for $46.
I read fantasy but I don't live fantasy.
After almost 12 months you have no recourse anywhere. You should have used the MBG when you realised the issue. Unless you waited almost 12 months to test it.

·2 years agoSounds like it is still operating to spec, if you think you are getting a real HP battery for $46, well I need say no more, If you buy cheap, you are getting rubbish. And looking at the last few purchases you have made, you enjoy supporting dodgy sellers.

·2 years agoOP, see my answer to another buyer here: https://community.ebay.com.au/t5/Buying-on-eBay/Subject-Beware-of-Unreliable-Sellers-and-Lack-of-Support-on-eBay/qaq-p/2585162
In that post, I had also included yet another link to another post of mine where I describe exactly why buying on eBay from Chinese sellers is a bad idea and offers zero warranty.

·2 years agoUnless the seller is an authorised seller/reseller AND is registered in Australia the"warranty" means nothing.

·2 years agoDid you buy from an authorised seller who is registered in Australia
Unless both, there is no warranty , no matter what the ad 'said'
If you did buy from an authorised seller, and they are not responding, I would suggest trying to contact HP directly
It is too late now to do anything via eBay
How did you pay?
