Seller not responding or providng postage but ebay wont let me get a refund
Summary: golden-97 is expressing frustration because a seller on eBay is not responding or providing postage, yet eBay's system is not allowing for a refund. *casey* replied, possibly offering advice or sharing a similar experience, and the conversation continued with more input but without resolution reported. Other participants, including padi*0409 and sandypebbles, also engaged in the discussion, which suggests a shared concern about the issue.
Long story short, I requested to cancel couple hours of purchasing something and the seller immediately declined. I saw that ebay suggested to open a return but that was also declined (I may of misinterpreted that). However, because its been of 2 weeks and a week past the expected delivery date and still no postage. I assume I should be able to get a refund at this point but ebay would not allow me because I started a return. Therefore, the seller has not sent or updated the order and I can't find a way to explain this to ebay to get my money back or for them to step in and help.
Please, any help with contacting or getting this resolved will be appreciated.

·9 months agoBecause you opened a 'return' the system wouldn't allow you to open an 'item not received' dispute.
After the cancellation was declined, did you immediately open a return and it was declined ?
If yes, I recommend you contact eBay, explain the situation and ask them to open an 'item not received' dispute for you manually.
An INR needs to be done within 30 days of the last estimated delivery date.
Click on 'Contact Us' at the bottom of the page in this link and on the right hand side, you'll see the automated assistant. Ask to speak to an agent or supervisor

Hopefully that works but if not, you have 180 days to file a dispute with Paypal, if that's how you paid.
And as a last resort, you could try a chargeback through your bank
What is the item number ? - don't give the seller's name

OP9 months agoThanks, I emailed ebay's customer support but didn't try asking for an agent or supervisor through the method you mentioned above.
The item number was : 317607226405.

·9 months agoGood grief - Look how many have sold !
Get on to eBay Help immdiately , directions in my link, and ask them to open an item not received case for you manually.
Explain everything clearly but they should be able to see the cancellation and the return were both declined.
I'm hoping that you requested a return straight after the cancellation was declined and not a week later, which would have made it look as if you'd received the item

·9 months agoTo add, tell them you've been scammed and ask them to look at the scam seller's completed /sold listings
If they open a dispute for you, you can ask eBay to step in after 3 days

·9 months agoEmails are useless, go to the "Chat now' option in "ebay help" at the top of the page, then ask for a supervisor.

·9 months agoAs said, it is a pointless waste of time to email
It won’t be seen by anyone from customer service, emails basically go to a bot hub where a bot may spit out an answer
Usually the answer the bot spits out have nothing to do with the question
