I suspect that the bidder is a ring in promoted by the seller to force the bidding up.

·1 year agoPersonally I avoid those "private listing" auctions, unless I bid in the last seconds, because they can and do mask shill bids.

You ask other members to 'investigate' and the reject the factual reply
You will need to contact eBay if you want them to answer you
And granted, eBay will, as they do with everyone who contacts them about anything, tell you what you want to hear to get rid of you
It won't be factual, nor will it be based on eBay policy
But since that is what you want to be told, you need to contact them
This is the member to member forum which eBay seldom read
I notice you are happy to keep on bidding, so if what you think is true, why help keep on pushing up the bids
Makes zero sense if you think the seller is doing something dodgy then why a) would you want to buy from a dodgy seller at all and b) why would you play the game?

The seller's feedback indicates that their customers are satisfied.
Private listings are allowed. Like me you are free to avoid them.
In any case it is not the "ring in" (if there is one) who "force the bidding up"... it is other bidders who do that.
