    Clarity and transparency

I was contacted by a seller to inform me they could not fulfil a purchase order and would I like to cancel.

I went to cancel, as they requested and the system said I couldnt do that.

The system directed me to 'contact the seller', so I got back to them, and asked them to cancel the order.

Now when I look at my buyer account, in the messages it says "Buyer cancelled Order", when in actuality

I had no choice and it was the seller that forced me into that position.  Why is a seller instigated lack of fulfilment not registered in the system as a 'non fulfilment issue' instead of a 'buyer just wanted to cancel issue'?  For clarity, this should be made clear, the origins of the need to cancel should be plain for all to see.

They asked would you like to cancel the order, and you agreed, therefore it is you who cancelled the order.

You could have declined and demanded the order be fulfilled, in which case the seller would either have to complete the sale, or cancel as out of stock and receive a sales metric defect.

So effectively you let them off the hook.
