I contacted a seller within Australia to post some items that are extremely light, and if they can combine shipping. They mentioned that they cannot and that shipping is automatically calculated by eBay and that they cannot change it.
I remember in the past that if you bought multiple items of the same item or mixed from the same seller, that they could make the shipping much cheaper. I.e. being charged instead of $13 the system quotes me over $30 for less than 500g of electronics parts that fit in the same envelope.
When did this change? 🤔

·1 year agoI have found it impossible if the seller is using the app exclusively….app is skewed to ‘not accepting a combined invoice’….I can’t work it out…. Will revert to laptop every time…… it’s the only way I can invoice

·1 year agoAsk the seller to set up a listing for the specific items you want, at a postage cost agreed to beforehand.
If they won't do that (it's not hard - I do it often because my volume discounts won't allow me send combined postage invoices) then, as said, look elsewhere.

·1 year agoSellers can still do it but for some newish sellers, or sellers who have never done it before, they may not be aware of how to do it or make changes.
You've done the right thing to ask before you buy as with some sellers it definitely will make a big difference as they will definitely do it.
When you strike someone who gives you a knock back or isn't willing to investigate it, all you can do is look elsewhere or decide if you still want those things at original price.

Nothing's changed.
Although a seller doesn't have to , a seller can still invoice you with combined shipping.
Is it a new seller ?

·1 year agoI don't know what it is that you think has changed... sellers have never been forced to combine postage, and they are under no obligation to do so.
If you're not happy with the postage charges, don't purchase from that seller - simples.
