Hello all,
I was in an eBay live stream on a computer and have mistakenly placed an order for an item.
For context, placing an automatic bid involves clicking and holding the bid price on the bottom of the screen. Clicking the ‘Max Bid’ button displays a pop up (modal window) that asks for a bid value, and lets you press a ‘Confirm’ button. This button is placed behind small, difficult to read text that states that a bid will be placed. The confirm button does not confirm the price, it fully confirms the bid.
As a user, the expected behaviour would be either that the confirm button on the max bid window is also a ‘hold to bid’ or the confirm button confirms the value to be taken to the main screen where the bid button is held again.
This has caused me to set a max bid significantly higher than funds I have available.
Furthermore, the seller is not replying, and the listing has been removed for a policy violation.
To clarify, I mistakenly placed an order due to poor website design and would like to cancel the payment.
I appreciate any guidance in resolving this. thank you.

OP2 months agoI can see the listing in my order history, but when I check the ‘Item details and help options’ in the resolution centre, it is marked as removed. My PayPal account has been charged but this has not gone through to my bank.
