Ebay protects dishonest sellers
Have been an ebay custoemer for 20 years apparently. That's what their customer service app tells me.
But it means nothing. When a customer is ripped off by a dishonest seller - ebay does nothing
I can no longer trust ebay as if there is an issue you cannot rely on them to assist. Have you tried calling ebay ?? It simply isn't possible.

·3 years agoI agree, but they dont care as long as they get paid, its all about the seller not the buyer.

·3 years agoA 2 year old thread.
But justify your statement

·3 years agoWow, so you give a seller negative feedback, because you ordered the wrong thing. blame the seller for your issue. ""Sale didnt go through, my fault, ordered the wrong grips. ""

·3 years agoALL about the buyer
Always every time
If the buyer chooses not to use the tools they are given, then that is the buyer's choice
Just as is
Not wanting to check seller feedback before buying
You have been on eBay since 2006, if you have not looked at the buying basics in that time, also up to you
Not looking at estimated delivery dates
Buying from overseas or unauthorised sellers and expecting a warranty anyway
You have'nt left many negs to reflect your comment here, and one neg you did leave, you admit it was your fault but you blame the seller with a red dot anyway

·3 years agoDid you see how many negs they got as a seller,

This is a negative feedback you left for a seller... WTH.
In another you say "I am not an easy person to deal with"
The negs you have scattered like confetti confirms this.
Sellers may thank you for posting.

·3 years agoEbay says we are covbere by the their buyer protection and yet whe its obvious there is a crook at work, they fall back into the same old pattern, you have to wait for 10 days before you can put in a claim. They say this is the expected dekivery date, a date they set not the seller. If an item hasnt been sent and its obvious it wont be, you still have to wait for the none expetce arrival. The you have to go through the process of filling a request and all the while eBay is collecting fees and the crooked seller has your money. This buyer protection isnt worth paper its written on, and still eBay is allowe dto get away with it.

·3 years agoIt's worthless when you have no idea what you are doing and do not follow the correct process
And yes, eBay do set the estimated delivery date
Spot on

·3 years agoHow do you relate your lack of understanding, allegedly, to the OP?
As you mentioned, you will get your money back if the item doesn't arrive; you just have to wait.
I have no idea how you think eBay collecting fees from the seller (non-refundable for an INR) protects sellers. They are out of pocket and don't have the goods if they sent them.
Either way, YOU are not out of pocket if you follow the correct procedures, so have no real reason to bump an old thread.

·5 years agoNo I have not tried calling eBay, since the call center has been closed for over 18 months due to Covid, it would be pointless
But other members would need more info if we could suggest possible solutions
Since eBay side with the buyer 99.9% of the time IF the correct procedures are followed, it is very hard for a buyer to be 'ripped off'
What happened and what did you do to try to get a satisfactory outcome?

·3 years agosandypebbles you seem to be in everyone's business, you just attacked me about not checking a seller's feedback, which I had & that you asked why I didn't lodge a dispute, which isn't a clearly visible option on Ebay.........nothing is easy in Ebay which is why I'm going to lodge a complaint with the ACCC. Ebay allows scammers & does nothing to make purchasers feel safe. I'm not an idiot, I've been here since 2003.

·3 years agoWhy post on another thread to attack Sandy again ?
She is one of the most respected members here and doesn't sugar-coat the answers - just gives out the facts.
Good luck with the ACCC, though you'll be wasting your time with them, the same as going to the police.
davewil1964
·3 years agoC'mon padi and sandy, you've both been around long enough to know that a buyer's lack of understanding of how eBay works is eBay's fault, not the buyer for not bothering to read how eBay works.

·3 years agocherie2430, sandypebbles hasn’t attacked you - although you may feel that it was. We can tend to personalise comments that are informative but not softened. There’s the intention to help you, though, by referring to the bad feedback. Yes, that seller definitely went downhill very quickly after (presumably) you purchased! But your best course of action is eBay’s Money Back Guarantee. It is as simple as it gets… but if you need any help in opening the return/refund request, just ask.

·3 years agoBeen here since 2003, and dont have a clue how ebay works, or how to open a dispute.
By the way you are wasting your time chasing ebay commerce, as they are not the seller. and are very well protected by the UA ,T&C's and Policies, all of which you have agreed to.
You need to open a dispute, at which time ebay will help get your money back. If you do not open a dispute how is ebay supposed to know you have a problem.

·3 years agoSo by reading public feedback I am in everyone’s business?
Sorry you do not like factual comments and consider them an attack
You say you checked feedback , you bought from them anyway ? after seeing the feedback and blame everyone but yourself for buying from this scammer
the option to open a dispute is right there, unless you wait past the 30 day time limit
I am not here to say ‘there there’
And if you ‘know’ I have been in everyone’s business, that would obviously say you have been in mine
Not sure how you imagine other members can offer help without knowing anything about the seller’s feedback etc
ebay help is the top of every single page
Buyers are given all the too,s in the world to protect themselves
