Im fed up with sellers who advertise a product for a price but when you select the colour you find out the price is much higher!

As has been said, that’s a legitimate use of listing variation.

But the product is almost certainly made of raw materials that are egregious. Toxic dye, plastic that I wouldn’t want to be handling, no quality control, IP rights violation… If I had a child, would I be buying them something like this?

    No.

Children’s toys cheaply churned out in Chinese factories (not under a recognised brand and thus under requirements to meet product quality standards or safety standards set in the destination country) have been found very recently to contain heavy metals (lead, antimony, cadmium) in hazardous quantities that cause serious harm.

I’m fed up with and continually aghast by the behaviour of Australian consumers who are so careless about children’s safety and their own safety and who continue to buy this toxic garbage. For goodness’ sake - stop looking at this sort of rubbish toy! Buy Australian - and if it is made in China, check that it is under contract to a major brand that knows to a nano inch whence each component in the supply chain is derived. Not something unbranded or fake-branded where YOU as the importer are legally and morally responsible for its standard and hazards.

Variation listing,  priced  from $6.20   to  $17.20.

Items are available at both prices, so no false advertising or breach of ebay policies.

As Sandy said,  Chinese registered seller with horrid feedback

What is your question for other members?

Even *if* the listing was genuine, why would you want to buy from a seller with such atrocious feedback anyway?

    Or

Take it up with eBay who allow variation listings

95% positive?, I'd not even click on something so far in the gutter

No doubt they are registered in China, so eBay Australia aren't going to touch them regardless
