    Fraudulent Sellers

I've just been ripped off for $155 on Ebay &  there is no way to contact any one to make sure the police are contacted to bring this jerk to justice.  The seller has just carried out a huge fraud, it's just not me ripped off.

Paypal notified me that they paid Ebay Commercial  & that means that is who should be refunding me, but, there is no way to contact anyone.

Caveat Emptor when dealing with Ebay as they are as contactable as the scammer.

The email I received from Ebay when I reported the fraud was a joke, it said they would close their account, etc, etc., but  no criminal charges?

What an upstanding entity to deal with!

The seller is clearly not an authorised seller of anything.

The feedback you left just indicates that you’re angry, but it isn’t realistic in terms of what you expect as consequences for the seller.

The account had a neg before the previous month… and there were red flags.

You will need to follow through by opening a Not As Described claim (return/refund request), as long as the delivery date was less than a month ago.

The seller will be responsible for return postage cost.

You will receive full refund including the original postage.

Forget about police and ACCC… Just go with the eBay MBG process and you’ll be fully refunded.

If you aren’t able to open an MBG claim, come back here and ask, and we (by which I mean the various members posting here) will guide you through what you need to do.

countessalmirena the truth of the matter is, the seller is using the MBG process to his/her advantage as Ebay states the seller must refund the purchase price once they receive the return. The seller will not receive the return, he/she gave an incorrect address. The item I returned has been redirected around Qld since 4th January & tracking currently shows it "in transit" at Townsville dated 13th January, today is the 21st. In the 50 yrs I've worked for a living, I've also done debt collection. I know a bad one when I see one. So far this person has collected nearly $6K from his/her scam sales. I've opened up a complaint through PayPal as the Ebay system is failing because of the condition that the buyer needs to provide proof receipt of the returned item. This will not happen when it is constantly tripping around Qld? There are over 30 people that this seller has scammed & the police need to be contacted. It's called FRAUD, full stop, end of story!.

cherie2430... IF you had opened a case for Item Not As Described & followed all the steps the seller would have been required to provide a prepaid returns label & not been able to provide an incorrect address. Using the correct process would have seen you with a refund by now. "full stop ,end of story!".

The item I returned to the seller has now been returned to me, stamped on the envelope by Australia Post firstly was left address, then Unknown at another address. This was a huge con by the seller & Ebay DOES NOT have the correct address repentatleisure1952, you are very wrong. Under the terms and conditions set out by Ebay for returns and refunds, I would still be waiting for my money.

All you have to do is use the tools that eBay provides under their MBG to get your money back (or if that fails, Paypal if you paid that way.

    https://pages.ebay.com.au/ebay-money-back-guarantee/index.html

Out of interest, did you check their feedback before you bought from them ?

    Edit. G'day Sandy.

This is the seller with 26 negs in the past month alone that they are a scammer

Why would you choose to buy from someone like that and think they would do the right thing by you?

Why, after buying from a scammer did you not open an item not as described dispute?

You do not need to 'contact eBay' to do that, they will not refund you if you do not open a dispute

eBay are not going to call the police about them

No, they will not take out criminal charges against the seller

    Caveat Emptor is spot on

Their feedback is more than warning enough not to be another person buying from them

There were no negatives before I purchased, only after, which is why I put my trust as him as a seller. I did my homework, find someone else to attack?

@cherie - You are the one who came to the boards. You are the one who doesn't understand how eBay works, specifically the MBG. Maybe you should spend some time reading about the MBG (and other relevant policies) before you attack other members.
