    Fraudulent Silver Coins

Im trying to understand how this multi national company that is ebay, obviously knowingly allows the fraudulent sale of obviously forged silver coins? These coins are advertised at nearly half spot silver price so are clearly not legit- in one way or another, but .9999% NOT SILVER.  These sellers are criminals and ebay is complicit

"Ebay is rife with forged or counterfeit stuff and cheap knock offs.

You have to be very careful what you buy and which seller you buy from"

Yes indeed springy and the coins category is one of the most buyer beware categories on this site.

    It's full of fraudulent listings.

eBay is most definitely not  "just a buying  and selling platform"  these days.

With the introduction of managed payments, and let's not forget the interest eBay earns   while holding

sellers' money, seller performance metrics, shipping labels to name just a few things,  it's much more than that.

Unfortunately I  can't name   good  "Trust and Safety"  teams as they no longer exist,  they're long gone.

Ebay is rife with forged or counterfeit stuff and cheap knock offs.

You have to be very careful what you buy and which seller you buy from.

Ebay doesn't necessarily want scammers on site but as others have said, they don't vet every listing. They have key words, I think, to stop some types of listings but probably not for coins.

You can report the listing but I doubt ebay will do a thing. Yes, some buyers might be caught out. The problem is if items are way under priced, you have to ask yourself why and it is often a red flag. But some buyers just believe everything they read in ads.

Because all the items are from different sellers, not ebay itself, you have to be cautious who you buy from.

And the buyers who buy these coins, supporting the sellers?

    Have you told eBay this?

    Reported the listings?

Contacted the sellers and told them?

    Reported them to the police?

sellers assume all responsibility for their listings

Buyers have full choice and control over what they buy

I know it is easier to blame eBay on a forum they won’t read

Not going to stop it happening

Buyers can by not supporting such sellers in the first place

eBay is simply a platform for sellers to advertise on and buyers to get in contact with those sellers.

eBay cannot possibly know what is fraudulent and what is not with the items. That's why every listing has this on it  "Seller assumes all responsibility for this listing."

eBay's MBG covers both buyers and sellers for problem with a purchase (though that is biased towards buyers).
