·1 year agoI understand you are angry & you have a right to be.
The seller you bought from is labelled as 'one of ebay's most reputable sellers.' Always disregard that, it can often be nonsense, it's just a seller who has sold a lot but it doesn't mean all their customers were happy.
You can't name the seller on these boards though, it is against the rules.
But I can show you this:
Look at the arrows.
The top one shows their feedback %. This seller is at 95.8% which is a red flag as it is actually a very low score.
If you ever do use ebay again, aim for a seller with at least 99%.
Your seller was based in Australia, which is one good point.
The lower arrows show the feedback breakdown.
Always click on the negative at least to read the comments.
If you had done so, you would have realised others have had similar problems to you.
Last point: The minute you opened the package and realised it was not as described in the ad, you should have opened a proper ebay claim for money back. Don't waste time messaging the seller, open a claim. A seller in Australia would then have to provide a return postage label if they wanted the item back You only have 30 days after the arrival of the item in which to open that claim.
Never return an item off your own bat, always go through the official ebay claim process.
You've lost $6.49 which isn't great but it could be lots worse.
Be extremely careful who you buy from, on ebay or anywhere else. On ebay, always click, click till you can see all the seller details & feedback etc
On other sites, check business location & reviews (which is not the same thing as comments in facebook etc)

·1 year ago@roberjaco_5, you do need to follow the T&Cs of the Money Back Guarantee if you want to be covered by it.
It’s also a good idea to buy only from sellers who have a good reputation, whose feedback doesn’t reveal a pattern of bad behaviour.
May your future online buying be graced by St Isidore of Seville.

If you just do your own thing you are not covered by the eBay MBG
The seller who you threaten with the ACCC in your feedback has feedback in the absolute gutter and you bought from them anyway. Plus their photos are lifted from other websites
eBay neither read the member to member forum, or will they notice if you leave or not (nor do eBay read feedback, nor is messaging anyone opening an item not as described dispute
