I bought a AZDOME dash camera in May 2024 they gave 1 year warranty, camera not working

I bought a product in eBay. They gave 1 year warranty, before warranty finishes product not working, I contacted eBay and they said contact to the manufacturer. I contacted manufacturer and they said that’s not their responsibility and contact back to eBay.

I think they plying a game.

You got 10 months out of it. Think yourself lucky.

As to warranty, refer to the other posts. As said you did not get a warranty from eBay, and it would appear your didn't buy from an authorised AUSTRALIAN reseller, otherwise the alleged manufacturer could have helped you.

eBay do not sell anything, they do not provide or enforce warranties and the do not cover buyers after almost a year

100% correct, if you bought from an authorised seller who was able to provide a genuine warranty in the first place, you would then contact the manufacturer. Since you bought from some random, there is zero warranty

No game playing with this one

eBay isn’t the seller; it’s an online marketplace, or as classed by the ATO, it’s an EDP (Electronic Distribution Platform).

You purchased from a seller who listed on eBay.

eBay provide a 30-day Money Back Guarantee, but that is for items that don’t arrive or are not as described upon arrival. It’s not a product warranty.

You say that the item you purchased had a one-year warranty; unless the seller is an Australian authorised dealer for the item, they cannot provide a warranty.

It is unfortunately the case that unscrupulous sellers will plonk a promise of warranty onto their listings when there is no possible actual warranty.

Was your seller registered in China? You can’t post the seller’s username etc., but you can post an item number of, say, a similar item being sold by the seller. The responders here can take a look.

If your seller is registered on eBay Australia rather than eBay.cn (for instance), and if your seller is a registered business with ABN, and is authorised as a reseller for the manufacturer of the item, then you do have possible remedies under Australian Consumer Law - but of course ACL has no authority or power over overseas sellers, or over Australian sellers who aren’t a business.

You are unlikely to have warranty rights if you purchase a grey import; you also won’t have the same protection if the seller isn’t an authorised dealer for that particular product.
