·1 year agoI don't do funerals. If i do, I don't do eulogies.
My father would have been a eulogy. I wasn't able to attend the funeral...

·1 year agoAs a fellow buyer on ebay, I believe the ebay delivery dates are one of the best things since sliced bread. 😁
Yes, ebay sets the date range but sellers can tweak them to a degree, depending on their handling time.
So I don't care if a seller is in China or on the moon, if their listing has a delivery date, i expect them to keep to it, or close to it.
I will allow for a few days over but I always keep in mind that there is only 30 days in which to open a claim with ebay.
So if an item is over the delivery date range and after a few extra days have passed, I would always open an ebay dispute claim.
When you see the delivery date range on an ad, never assume it will get to you by the earliest date either. It may. Just about all my items arrive within the specified period. But look at that last date and realise it may even run a few days over. If that is cutting it too fine, it is probably best to move onto another seller.

·1 year ago@chama-598,
As soon as the option is available to you, open a refund request if the item hasn’t arrived by the latest EDD (Estimated Delivery Date), as has already been mentioned.
Remember to follow through with escalating the case (asking eBay to step in) if the seller doesn’t refund you within 3 business days – that’s when the option first appears (to escalate) in the dispute. Ask here if you aren’t sure of anything, but please do read the Money Back Guarantee help page to which Casey linked in the very first reply on this thread.
@mdgli,

No; their posting styles are different and I have no hesitation in asserting they’re different people.
In short… are you relatively inexperienced in using online forums? Can I suggest you try to put preconceptions behind you and just interact with the posters here in good faith? We’re not your enemy, believe me.

·1 year agoYou are obviously a new buyer on eBay and as such it will take some time to learn how things work on here. 1. you have ordered from a Chinese Seller with a lot of bad feedback. 2. You have not realized that items from China can take months to arrive and it is out of the hands of the Seller once they have sent it. 3. The estimated date (put up by eBay) is "estimated" in other words "a guess" 4. Items may not arrive on time because of the massive number of items in the post at this time of year. It is unrealistic to expect items to arrive on the exact day they are supposed to, especially near Xmas. I have had a few that have been "on board for delivery" and still did not arrive that day. My latest one "on board for delivery" did not arrive until a week later. (I really wondered if the delivery driver just decided to take a week off) Last year I had multiple small items (about 7) bought from China, bought in October and November, all from different Sellers, and they did not arrive until May of this year. They were tracked as being in Australia at a sorting centre after being sent, and there they sat, probably under the mountain of other small parcels for about 6 months. My advice, only buy things from Australia after October if you want it for Xmas. It just takes time and experience to learn all this, good luck and Merry Xmas.

·1 year agoAnd no matter who the seller is, this is eBay, not TEMU so please don't compare.
Do you have a tracking number ?

·1 year agoSo you negged the Chinese seller with a questionable feedback percentage over an ESTIMATED ETA.....
Edit. Snap Sandy.

·1 year agoThe estimated delivery date is just that
Was the 20th the first date or the last date?
A guess inserted by eBay
If you really need something, /something is important/need it to arrive at all, then best to avoid buying from dodgy sellers registered in China
All you can do is either hope it arrives 'shortly after' the guess date is open and follow through with an item not received dispute
And don't let the seller trick you with excuses or promises or tricks
*casey*
·1 year agoIs it from the seller in China you've left negative feedback ?
If you don't receive your item, make a claim through eBay's Money Back Guarantee
https://pages.ebay.com.au/ebay-money-back-guarantee/
mdgli
·1 year agoSure, they'll open a claim and have to wait 10 days. will take them 1/1/2025. If the seller asks for extension to resolve the issue on the 29/01 he'll get extension to the 8th. Then, he may have a refund under MBG.
padi*0409
·1 year agoThat's certainly not the way it worked for me on my last 2 claims under the MBG.
The last one eBay refunded me within half an hour of opening the dispute.
And the one before that eBay waited 3 days for the seller to respond and when they didn't eBay refunded almost immediately.

He's quoted my post because I asked him not to post his 'personal issues' in the 'scammer' thread

·1 year agoAs already mentioned , The Money Back Guarantee usually works very well , with no problems.
You've been unlucky and I, along with others , have supported you.
But it really isn't fair to post
"Sure, they'll open a claim and have to wait 10 days. will take them 1/1/2025. If the seller asks for extension to resolve the issue on the 29/01 he'll get extension to the 8th. Then, he may have a refund under MBG"
as that's just not true in most cases.
mdgli
·1 year agoWill it be fair to assume the with (0) you have no personal, practical experience getting refund from MGB?
mdgli
·1 year ago"Smart" sellers do respond. And every time they respond they get extension. That what happen on my 2last 2 claims. One took 35 days after ETA for refund and one is still open 25 days after ETA.
springyzone
·1 year agoI do believe sometimes people might face a wait.
I remember making my one and only ebay claim, maybe a couple of years back, for item not as described. The seller was given 10 days to respond. I don't why that long.
They ignored the entire thing (just as they had ignored my messages) until that very last date, when they issued a return label. They later had my neg feedback removed, not sure on what basis.
So the reality is it can take a good 3 weeks or more to get your money back as it is only refunded once the seller gets the item back.
--------------------------
Chama- Did you mean in your post that you still do not have your item, as of 21 Dec? If this is what you meant, your best bet is still to open an ebay claim. There may be a bit of a wait but the sooner you open it, the sooner you are likely to get a refund.

·1 year agoThis appears to be your earliest venture into this thread.
You have a common paradigm. If you don't like the answer you attack the messenger. That attitude pretty much died in the Middle Ages.
The trick is to READ what's posted and take the facts into account when resolving your issues.
If you choose not to do so that is your issue, and certainly not down to any of us other members.
mdgli
·1 year agoIt seems like most of the "messengers" here are sellers with some sort of complex about buyers.
They write 1000s of posts "proving" all buyers are wrong, too demanding, unreasonable with attitude from the Middle Ages.
Than pet each other on the back with "Helpful"s.
I look at your stats and am very impressed mate.
Keep'em coming. 🤘
*casey*
·1 year agoWhat I can't understand is why you're attacking the very people who agree with you regarding your problems with the MBG.
You SHOULD have been refunded and I told you on your own thread to PUSH eBay.
The OP on the other thread has been going through an even worse problem with their MBG claim and I wrote:
"I'm sad and ANGRY this has happened to you.
That a site which used to have great Customer Service and Trust and Safety teams, have stooped this low"
This doesn't usually happen with Money Back Guarantee claims and we're all wondering why the sudden change.
As far as "agressiveness" goes, I do get angry when I see scammers are involved or if someone isn't being
treated fairly by eBay but apart from that, I really don't think anyone on the boards would say I was usually agressive.
