I purchased a Flip Phone on Afterpay. I found out its 2G.2G was disbanded in 2017.

So after finding out this Marvellous Flip Phone for Elders is a 2G I cancelled the Afterpay and informed the Seller that I don't want it as its of No-Use to anyone . Its 2G which has been Obsolete since 2017 at least. They should'nt be selling this stuff  in Australia. The Seller got back to me asking me to keep it and I'll get a 5% Refund. No I'm Not Takeing it and Will Return it. I should have been more Careful But Most of me e-bay experiences have been Honest and Successful. I would'nt even Dream of anyone selling a 2G Mobile phone. Now I'll have to Repair the Recharge Socket on my old Telstra Flip Phone. What are your Thoughts about this?

Well Yes I've got some Satisfaction with the Help from Akash whose an "e-bay"  Helper Worker. He advised that the Seller is in the Wrong because they had'nt advertized the Seniors Flip Phone ad a "2G".  He advised me specifically Not to Return it But to keep it But don't Open it. Take a Photo of the Parcel getting the Numbers and Bar Code. I have to Follow up with a Process and send it back to the Seller with the Seller paying for the postage. So I'm confident I won't end up wasteing $Money on a Dead Elephant! Good Work Akash and e-bay. Mark.

Personally I would rather respond to experienced members who asked for the info above AND follow the actual, written, factual eBay policies than go on something a staff member who has no experience using eBay has typed from a pre-written script. But that's just me

Read that which you wrote again - firstly you were advised to NOT return it - then you say you have to return it.

If it is the pretty blue one, sold for parts or repair, and listed as vintage  2003, with  2G clearly indicated in the item specifics.  Then you are screwed.

It even states it can not be used to make or receive calls in Australia.

If I am not looking at the correct item, please advise item number.

What did the item description say?

If it does not match what was sent to you, open a dispute

If it stated what it was in the listing, not much you can do

You can't just do your own thing and return it to get your money back

You need to go through the proper process

IF the listing did not state what is was you were buying

What you do with your old phone does not interest eBay and does not count towards a dispute, nor do personal opinions

What matters, as far as eBay is concerned, did you get what the item description said?

My thoughts are that I do my due diligence before buying.

I know zero about After Pay.

Do you know how to return this item?

Or will you stumble on without researching the correct process?
