Report them to ebay as lying about their location. Sadly this seems to be standard now, item listed as located in Aust but actually comes from China

The person you are replying to posted this a year ago, pointless to tell them to report them to eBay after this amount of time

Again, the seller you bought from quite clearly shows they were registered in China and quite clearly shows their dreadful feedback

No point finding every thread you can and posting similar things. Spamming the forum is not going to achieve anything, I am not the one buying from these scammers or making excuses that I had to buy from a scammer because eBay let’s the scammer list on the site

All the information was there, you bought anyway

Either escalate the dispute or play games with the seller as you have been doing

You will not be covered by the eBay MBG if you play with the seller

Just as you will not be covered by insurance if the rubbish you buy from these scammers causes any damage or injury to yourself, you property or someone else’s

    You have the power

You do not have to buy from dodgy sellers, which your feedback shows you choose to do a lot

What eBay should do aside, you should be making better choices and stop helping scammers like this to stay in business

Similar thing happened to me: item listed as in Melbourne, Australia. It arrives defective so I initiate a refund request. Seller initially tried to offer me a 50% refund. Then they try to get me to send it back to an Australian warehouse address but outside of the refund system. I insist that they issue a postage label through the proper eBay system because I smell a rat at this point. They then issue a refund label pointing to some warehouse in China.

I'm pretty sure this is a violation of eBay's seller policy around misrepresenting item location. It's also likely a violation of Australian Consumer Law around deceptive and misleading advertising. I'm assuming the seller will try to wait out the clock, so I'll be interested to see if eBay are willing to do anything about this when I call them on Monday.

@markmuir87, do not wait! If you’ve been issued with a postage label in the dispute, you need to return the item.

It wouldn’t hurt to contact eBay (asap) just to confirm that all is fine with the label. Just don’t let the return window time out, or you will lost the dispute.

Monday is a public holiday so good luck with that

Australian consumer law does not apply to sellers in China

Do not play games with the seller, open and follow through with the dispute

The seller you bought from is shown as registered in China and have rubbish feedback

Are you saying the seller is registered in China and the item came from their distribution center in NSW?

If so, a distribution center like that cannot receive mail

What is the reason for you wanting a refund?

Is it not as described or did you change your mind?
