I think I purchased a fake?
Summary: superstar03 discussed a problematic purchase of earplugs from an eBay seller, suspecting the items to be counterfeit due to discrepancies in product images and delivery times. They noted the seller initially created a delivery label but later changed the status from tracked to untracked. springyzone advised verifying the product details, examining the item upon arrival, and being prepared to file an eBay claim if the product is fake. They emphasized scrutinizing listings thoroughly before purchase. superstar03 confirmed the listing's ambiguous branding, and sandypebbles inquired about the item number.
Hi everyone,
I stupidly purchased some loops experience 2 earplugs from an eBay seller, it's been 5 days and all they've done is create a delivery label, postage says it will be 11th August we are in the same state, I checked their pic against the loops website and the pics are different but the eBay pic is the same as AliExpress, so I think they've ordered them from China and will swap the packaging and send them on hence the long delivery times, I've asked to cancel as they will obviously be fakes, they have denied saying the product has been sent, but the tracking number says label created, now the seller has changed it from tracked to posted untracked.

Mostly eBay automated feedback
Lifted photos for their items
Plus they sell death trap batteries and general garbage

·2 weeks agoI'd say you are right.
When you ordered, was the delivery date listed then as 11 Aug because if you are in a metro area and the item is supposedly fairly close by, that's a red flag.
Only a seller can cancel and they don't have to. I'd say this seller said no because he has already ordered it from China.
However, that doesn't mean you have to resign yourself to receiving fakes.
When these arrive, have a good look over them.
If they are fake or in any way different to the genuine thing or faulty, immediately open a proper ebay claim for item not as described, faulty, whatever the case may be.
Do not contact the seller beforehand, just open the claim and stick with it till you get a full refund. The seller, if he wants the item back, will need to provide you with a paid postage label.
But before you do another thing-go back, re read the ad you bought from. Double check exactly what it says, scroll down to the item specifics and see what it says under Brand.
Quite often these sorts of sellers will imply certain brands or say it is in the style of such and such, but when you read the ad properly, you'll see it is actually an unbranded item.
These days, you have to do a deep dive into any ebay ad and the seller ID before you buy-their feedback, the item specifics and so on.
