I'm getting harassed by a Seller, but eBay is not blocking them. HELP

Summary: heyhey_guess_who is experiencing harassment from a seller on eBay and is frustrated that the platform is not taking action to block the seller. sandypebbles, twyngwyn, lezned-toycollector, *casey*, imastawka, and etb321 participate in the discussion, but specifics of their responses are not detailed. The thread reflects an urgent plea for assistance and possible advice from other participants on how to handle the situation.

I have a seller that is harassing me sending me multiple messages a day. I've tried messaging them back to ask them to stop, I've tried blocking them, I've sent eBay messages that the blocking is not working. How do I stop this happening? Why won't eBay allow me to block a seller?

If you remove the negative feedback, then they will refund you? I don't believe it (but the emails would stop).

Yes, $66 is low value to me. I live and work regionally, and for me to take time away from work to go and do a return at the post office is increasing the loss I've already incurred. I'd lose more than $66. It's not all about money. It's very materialistic to only consider money. I've wasted time, fuel, etc, to have this item that doesn't meet the seller's description. I'm negative towards the transaction because of the time, not the money. I won't be bribed. I have not received money back

Did you open and follow through with the dispute, not asking to return, an actual item not as described dispute

You do not have to be bribed

    Report the feedback extortion

Delete the seller's messages without reading them

The seller gets no say, they cannot say you have to send the item back

It is not as described, they are registered in China so cannot provide a return label (as has been said already)

don't buy from dodgy sellers registered in China and you will avoid such issues. They have so many negs warning people not to deal with them

You do not need to lose anything to get your money back

But the comment you left makes it sound like you have

You're allowed to leave negative feedback.

The seller shouldn't be messaging you daily  - Report and /  or Ignore them

    ................................................................................................................................................................................................

    Your feedback left:

"It’ll work, but quality is pretty average"

Indicates that the item could be used and is possibly already fitted and in use !

But  you sought some compensation for it not being in as good condition  as you expected.

Your follow up feedback indicates that you received compensation in the form of a full  refund

"At that point, I got offered a full refund. But my negative feedback is still negative based on the process of trying to get the issue resolved and them wasting my time"

    And as for this:

" It's not all about money. It's very materialistic to only consider money"

    Seriously ?

    We'll you'd be wrong. I was being diplomatic in words used and when it comes to compensation, they approached me, I did not approach them. I said to refund me straight away, they chose not to and offered a 25% return of funds. I ignored the replies for a few days, until I reiterated that a full refund would be ok as not useable, but no, 25% stuck. I told them to leave me alone after a few more days of them hassling me. Then I got a full refund offer IF I remove the negative feedback, but I'm already annoyed at this stage, so I don't care about money and never have, still getting negative feedback so no deal. I have not accepted any refund as all options to do so end up with me either;

    1) Removing negative feedback which compromises the feedback process and they get a good score for poor product and poor service. You're ruining eBay if you do this

    2) I have to send back the item which involves me incurring additional expense to end up at square 1, why would any logically thinking person do this? Why would you give away money for no reason.

Please come on, try and pick a hole in it.

The eBay process wants me to return. The item is so low value, I will spend more on time and fuel to get to the post office, than what I'd get back. It's not worth it for me

If the item is of such low value, then the seller isn't likely to issue a label - and this one's in China, so they can't issue a label anyway.

Unless the seller provides that postage label, you don't have to return anything.

That's incorrect lezned, if the seller is overseas they cannot issue a return label, and it's up to the buyer to send the item back, once the seller receives the item then they should do a full refund including the return postage.

$66 AUD is low value to you??

It seems you got a full refund, so what's the problem?

    Ignore the seller's messages.

What are they harassing you about?

Have you bought and not paid?

Are they asking you to change feedback you have left? (is it the seller you left the neg for, and if so have you reported the messages for feedback extortion?)

Though if it is them, they are registered in China and have horrid feedback, I would not have bought from such a dodgy seller in the first place)

No point in replying to them, they are not going to take any notice

How have you sent eBay messages? (if via email, eBay email is an unmanned bot service that is pointless for such things)

I paid, received and the product was far from advertised. I tried to resolve, they didn't accept. I left negative feedback and they offered me a trivial partial refund that I didn't accept as I won't be bribed. They have messaged me every day for a month trying to get me to change the feedback and at this point, it's by duress. They won't stop messaging me even though. They're literally hammering me with messages until I change it.

I've tried contact eBay about it, I've tried using the 'Block' function in the app. Neither have worked. There is no functionality to block, report or get support against sellers, only buyers.

Does it no longer allow you to report them for feedback extortion? (since that is what it is, and it is against policy and you used to be able to report that)

Did you open and follow through with an item not as described dispute, so you get all your money back? (the seller does not get a say if what you were sent is not what was in the description)

Have you tried using the real site, rather than the app, which is useless for many things?

The seller won't refund you.  Don't read their messages.  Don't respond.

Report them via the link given by Twy.ngwyn

You have 30 days to open a case for Item not as described to get a full refund.

eBay Money Back Guarantee policy | eBay

If it is too late for that you have 180 days if you paid by Paypal - open a case with them.
