A Bunnings survey popped up on Ebay yesterday after I completed a purchase. How do I find out whether is is legitimate?

Wonder if it is a scam?
Better yet, I'll do the smart thing and block without opening

But won tupperware at woollies, a bonus on slots, a quote for a building, nasal strips and a 401K from the tax office. And its only 10am, what other joys will the day bring

·2 years agoLooks like another Bunnings scam.
Received 2 emails Bunning warehouse promotions fill in the survey and go into a draw.
But!
The senders email is "Bunnings Warehouse Weber Genesis II Grill"
No ferryhouse.info domain.
Email header information points to logicman.info who resolves to dc7885.rizedc.com [81.7.7.19],
rizedc.com registered in Arizona US registrar GoDaddy llc.
The IP address leads to euserv.de, guess this will lead to anywhere.
Wonder if Bunnings are using some outside services?
Or is it a scam?
Do I bother going deeper, I did on one a month ago and really it is not worth the effort.
Just treat it as a scam at line 4!

I get the same emails daily (to an email address never used for eBay, since it is nothing to do with eBay)
Why did you do one a month ago?
It is a scam
No wondering about it

·2 years agoAll this talk about wills makes me think how many don't have one. I don't although I should considering my circumstances at the moment but I just keep putting it off like everything else which must be how they catch a few out with these offers. Honestly I would hate to burden anyone with cleaning up my mess as they would not know where to start hence why I haven't bothered.

·2 years agoI've had to replace my Credit Card twice in the last two months because of phishing scams like this. They only get your $3.00 but then they have you by your you know what.

·2 years agoHow the hell do you fall for these scams? They are quite obvious. You were being greedy like a lot of people who fall for these scams by thinking you were going to get something for free. Another is the "oh did you purchase this from Amazon. If not give us your cards details and we will return your money back, you bloody greedy idiot." Even though you don't have an Amazon account. This is not aimed at you but to anyone after a free ride. Nothing is free in this world. Get used to it and don't be so greedy. You just might hold onto your money a bit better.

If was going to be condescending, I would echo ratman's response (perhaps more politely, depending on my mood).
If I asked a question on the boards I would check in occasionally to read responses.

·2 years agoTotally agree! There was an ad on the TV a few days ago about getting a free Will done if you did it by Sunday March 24. I thought RIPPER! So, I jumped on the site, went through everything, then they wanted credit card details. First year free, then $15 a month!!! If I live another 20 years, that's a LOT of money spent. I hit the X real fast, and will go and get it done locally. Why would I hand over my credit card details for something that was advertised as being free? Now I'm being hounded to death with spam from this site.

A Will is a one off - signed sealed & delivered.
Unless of course circumstances change.

·2 years agoI have seen this before, they also offer to keep it securely (???), and updates if required, although the one I saw you had to pay for the update anyhow.
So yes a total rip off
Edit: some people do make regular updates to their will.

The same scam has been warned about here alone many many times
No reasonable person would hand over their credit card details to an unknown without first asking basic questions or doing basic checks
Especially not when they had to tick a box saying 'I agree to pay $$$$$ every couple of weeks after I pay the $3 postage to get a 'free gift' that is worth $$$$$
There are people really being scammed through no fault of their own (hacked accounts etc)
They can't get help quickly because too many other people want a 'quick freebie' despite the 'quick freebie' being a very very obvious scam that has been posted about more times than you can poke a stick at
People have every right to be angry at that

There is nothing real about these fake ads for 'Bunnings' Or Kmart'
You chose to give these grubs your information , despite all the warning on here and elsewhere they are scams
Why twice?
Don't make it a third time or you might not be so lucky
You handed them your you know whats on a silver platter
I expect they have passed your details on to every scammer list there is now you have shown you are happy to play with them

·2 years agosooner or later your card issuer will stop replacing your credit card OR start charging you for replacement cards.
Do as others suggest, use personal restraint and don't sign up for these scams.
Please also tell me you know nothing about Smartycash. If you come across it, hit the back button on your device, otherwise you might sign up to get a $15 eBay discount that will cost you $19 per month until you find a way to cancel.
Nobody gives you a financial benefit for zero cost. The $15 Smartycash offer signs people up to a monthly subscription in order to get the $15 benefit. By the time members opt out of Smartycash they may be hundred$ out of pocket.

·2 years agoI think it's a scam. I filled out a survey and stupidly gave my credit card details to receive the free gift. $3.00 was taken out of my account and it signed me up for a membership to aiwitrix.com. Consquently I cancelled my VISA card.

But if you have to ask if it is a scam then it is not worth taking the chance
I have bought plenty from the Bunnings website proper and never been asked to fill in a survey after doing so
