Yes, the ebay filters don't always work the way you expect them to.
It's extremely annoying to tick Australia only yet be shown items from overseas with massive postage costs.
That's not what the potential buyer wants to see at all.
From what i recall, Australia only means items available to Australia. I suspect ebay doesn't care what you want, it just wants to present you with items you could possibly buy & the more the better.
In this instance, the other boardies here are 100% right. Filtering is the least of your problems with this sort of purchase. It could so easily end in tears. Don't do it to yourself. Go into a real store to buy this sort of product, a real store where you'll get a real warranty.
There's a reason some of the tech stuff & iphones on ebay might look cheap (and some aren't even that cheap). It is because a lot of them are cheap knock offs or coming ffrom China and you'll get no enforceable warranty.
PS And don't expect ebay to have your back either if things do go wrong down the track and you find the seller won't honour a 'warranty' they mentioned in the ad. Ebay has a 30 day window for claims and that is it. It doesn't get involved in warranty issues.

'Australia only' does not mean
a) you only see items in Australia from sellers in Australia
b) Just because a listing says an item is in Australia does not mean it is,
The seller could be lying
The seller could be registered in China, dodgy as the day is long and drop shipping from a warehouse here
Plus, buying an iPhone off some random on eBay is risky at best
There will be no warranty
You do not know if you are getting a real iPhone or a knock off
The battery is likely to be a serious hazard
