non delivery of product by seller/HELLLLLP!
Summary: A participant initiated a discussion regarding the non-delivery of a product by a seller with a plea for help. sandypebbles, countessalmirena, and springyzone responded to the original post, but their responses only included the word 'None,' indicating they might not have contributed further information or solutions to the issue at hand.
Hello,
I am just looking for direction here if anyone can help. I bought a product here on e-bay for $900. and did NOT receive it. Ebay told me to open a report which I did. They told me to contact seller---which I did in messages. There was NO response from the "seller". I patiently awaited, then am told case is closed from inactivity.
I am interested in ebay "stepping in" ....either giving me product or refund. I was effectively scammed. My question is, how can I reopen case? Or talk to a real customer service representative where I don't go through computer feedback loop that doesn't have a resolution to my issue and progress a positive outcome? I purchased product on June 11, 2024. This has been a very sad and uncomfortable buying experience. Thank you anyone who can help.

·1 year agoI think it can be confusing for newish buyers. They think that once they open a claim officially with ebay and are given a date, that the rest will happen automatically. It doesn't. The buyer has to follow it up and get ebay to step in and close it, as countess explained.
You cannot reopen an ebay claim.
However, we are talking $900. And it is obvious you are new to buying. Plus you at least opened an ebay claim or so it seems?
I think that although it is a pain, you need to go through all the steps to get to an actual ebay rep to talk to in person.
Have the details down on paper before you start, so you can name dates etc
Explain that you thought you were following their advice and contacted seller and thought your ebay claim would proceed automatically.
You may be in luck as this is a large amount and you can prove you did not receive it. They can see you received no reply to your message.
Follow all contess's advice. Hopefully you paid via paypal as if you did, you will get a full refund but same thing applies-you have to follow up after making a claim and finalise it. Otherwise they assume it has been resolved.
Please let us know how you go with ebay. Often we read that aftter 30 days, ebay will do nothing so it would be interesting to know if they make exceptions.

·1 year agoOP, you didn’t follow the required procedure. Did you read through the MBG help page? Once you open the dispute, if the seller doesn’t resolve the issue within 3 working days, and within 21 days of opening the dispute, you must ask eBay to step in. If you don’t, then the dispute closes without being resolved and you won’t be refunded.
It can’t be reopened.
You could try talking to eBay on live chat and asking to speak to a supervisor, explaining that you didn’t know about the timeframe. However, it’s a bit of a long shot as eBay spell out the details in the help page and they don’t want to deal with disputes personally. It’s all bot-driven.
Did you pay through PayPal? If so, you are covered by the PayPal Buyer Protection for 180 days from the date of the transaction.
If you didn’t use PayPal but did fund your purchase by credit card or debit card, and if you’re still within the dispute period in your card’s T&Cs, you can contact your card issuer/bank to have a chargeback.
Let us know how you get on by posting on this thread; it’s helpful for other members in a similar situation to see that there can be a good outcome.

·1 year agoYes, you needed open an item not received dispute
And follow through with it
You do not wait for the seller to respond
eBay will not step in if you do not follow the correct process
June is far too late now for anything to happen with eBay so there is no point in contacting them
If you paid with PayPal, open a dispute there
As a last resort, do a charge bank with your bank
eBay is all about the buyer, but you need to use the tools you are given
