    Passing the buck!

Summary: The discussion titled "Passing the buck!" appears to lack substantive content, as all messages, including the main post and its responses, contain only the word "None." This suggests that there might have been an error in posting, or the content was removed, leaving only the subject as a hint to the intended topic.

Bought an item ( still in warranty) worked for a period of time.  EBay sent out a warning for this product which then stopped working.
contacted seller from eBay. They got a different company to send us a video to “fix it”. Which didn’t address the problem now seller won’t respond.
contacted eBay to help, they say they can’t due to privacy laws and was told to contact the payment service to get refund

contacted payment service who can’t help with dispute because timeframe has passed.
so if the seller won’t respond how do I do a warranty claim!!!

As Casey said, quite a lot of the time any warranty mentioned in ebay ads by random sellers will mean absolutely nothing.

In short, unless you bought from an authorised seller, you have no warranty.

The ebay money back guarantee only applies for items that arrive faulty and in any case, claims have to be made within 30 days of delivery. I guess if you bought something that died on first or second use, you would be in time to make a claim through ebay but once a timeframe elapses, you're out of luck, as you have found.

The best advice I can give is on ebay, go slowly. Double check the seller's location by clicking on their name. Avoid buying from anyone registered in China.

And don't buy anything on ebay that requires a warranty- no smartphones, electronics etc. Unless you're sure of the seller, you're better off buying from a real store.

A seller can write anything in a listing but  when it comes to warranties, they generally mean nothing, just words on a screen unfortunately.

For a warranty to be valid, you need to purchase from an authorised seller / reseller  registered in Australia.

What is the item number ?
