Postage - Fraudulent Stamps
Summary: vlado9575 initiated a discussion about fraudulent stamps related to postage, noting the concern of counterfeit stamps in circulation. sandypebbles also commented, but did not provide further details or suggestions to address the issue.
Today I received an item from an eBay seller. Upon picking it up from the post office I was advised that the stamps were fraudulent and I had to pay for the postage (the item was advertised with free postage. The total cost was $9.70.
Australia Post have advised that there have been many cases of fraudulent postage stamps and that the Federal Police are investigating.
The seller has been advised. I wanted to advise eBay but it seems to be impossible to find where I can send such items of information, although I am sure that the Federal Police will be advising them

Did you leave the seller neg feedback?
Postage is never really 'free' but rather the postage cost built into the item
Does the seller have feedback from other buyers for the same behaviour?
Have you yourself advised the police of *this* seller?
What was the item number for what you bought that came with the stamps?
Doubtful the seller cares either, if it is indeed the seller from the thread above they will just open a new ID with a new username and continue to do the same thing
