·2 years agoTo make the above clear, ARN stands for Acquirer Reference Number. It’s a unique identifier for a credit card transaction. Contact eBay (live chat) to ask for the ARN for your refund, explaining that you had cancelled the relevant credit card in the interim.
Then contact your bank with the ARN, explaining the situation. Your bank should be able to trace and process the refund / transaction with that information.

thanks for clarifying. I’m having the same issue right now and I have desperately tried to get an ARN from the automated live chat. It keeps saying it doesn’t understand my question and basically can’t get the ARN from there.
Is there another way to get it?

·1 year agoUPDATE: I’ve been refunded to my new debit card.
That’s what I did:
- go to “my eBay” - “account” - “payments” - add your new card details as soon as possible and delete the expired one.
- wait a couple of days and you should receive the refund in your bank account automatically. 💰
Since you can’t talk directly to eBay and seller can’t help with this issue, I suggest you still have a chat with your bank if you don’t receive money in your account within two days and see how they can help.
When I spoke to CBA over the phone they told me it could take up to a month to receive a refund in this situation so I had to wait. It actually was resolved within two days.

·2 years agoI’m having same issue I cancelled my debit card coz I lost it and then bought a faulty item which I was refunded for but it hasn’t hit my account in 4 working days now starting to worry it won’t come.

Please contact Ebay customer help then you ask the ARN.
Your bank will solve your issue with ARN.
It is very easy at your bank.

That's on you.
Talk to your bank maybe - the money is floating around somewhere.

Refunded date was 30/09/23 and expired date of card was 09/23.
Tomorrow I will talk to my bank to solve this issue.
