    Reminders to provide feedback

Summary: A participant initiated a discussion regarding reminders to provide feedback. Various contributors, including martyj1948, davewil1964, *casey*, and springyzone, exchanged messages, though the specific details of their conversation aren't provided here. Despite the lack of content, it's likely that they touched upon methods or experiences relating to the subject. The discussion seems to lack detailed responses, focusing instead on brief exchanges.

After recent purchases, I have received reminders to provide feedback. Usually, I always provide feedback but occasionally I elect not to do so. These reminders arrived very soon after the estimated date of arrival. The problem is, that there have been delays in delivery and the goods have not yet arrived. So the reminders cannot be acted upon at that time. If eBay wants to send reminders, fine, but time their sending to a date about 7 days after the estimated delivery time.

You are probably right, a week after the due delivery date would seem a more logical time to send reminders.

But it is the way of the world. I have noticed a lot of other companies do the same sort of thing send a reminder staright after they assume you have had it delivered.

Obviously this ebay policy does not always pay off. I was just browsing someone's feedback and saw a neutral that just said, "Nothing to say".😂

Probably someone who felt pressured by ebay to give feedback.

And like casey, I'd be suggesting always give feedback from now on as this automated feedback for sellers is starting to be a thing & it is puffing up the scores of some sellers. There's no real way to know if those 'positive' scores were transactions that went well or not but it certainly makes the sellers look better at first glance.

I can guarantee they didn't in my  example  -  many fake!

I tried to give subtle hints   but please everyone, check the country of registration and remember how many  have posted on our forum . There are hundreds, if not thousands of them.

"Anyway, I should have given you an example of an  "Australian"  account showing eBay's automated feedback"

    Answering a question       -     No, I haven't made a mistake !

"The  eBay  automated positive feedback is also  given when they're actually fake tracking scams, not delivered to the actual  buyer at all"

To  add, this often happens when  fake transactions have taken place between scammers to build up feedback before scamming.

Anyway, I should have given you an example of an  "Australian"  account showing eBay's automated feedback.

There are plenty more .....but this   'seller'   was were here on the forum very recently.

It's a .com /US  link so  the  non  items for sale can be viewed

Very interesting to note that  this  item was listed as being sent from China:

Because  many of your sellers are shonky dropshippers with very poor feedback, note that eBay now leaves  positive automated feedback, on behalf of buyers, 7 days after the tracking shows delivery.

The  eBay  automated positive feedback is also  given when they're actually fake tracking scams, not delivered to the actual  buyer at all.

The feedback shows   "Order delivered on time with no issues" and buyers can override the feedback with their own.

Note how many  hundreds of  eBay automated positive  feedback your  individual shonky dropshippers have received,  boosting their poor feedback %

You would have to talk to eBay about that.

This is a member to member board, not eBay.

You could always ignore the messages, as I do for those that are irrelevant
