·9 months agoI couldn’t agree more, sandy, about the high risk posed by these knock-off battery chargers – and batteries, and electrical/electronic items.
Made in China to spec for a major brand under contract, of which the requirements include meeting Australian regulatory standards, is completely different to made in China by a factory churning out knock-offs, unbranded items, fakes, cheapie rubbish.
I quote from something I posted on another thread:

Do the items that you're buying have EESS Conformity Certification (CCS)? I suspect not. It's one thing to buy grey goods / parallel imports to save some money (at the risk of possibly having no enforceable warranty), but it's far worse when one buys electric/electronic goods made in the cheapest possible way in factories in China where there isn't any standard comparable to the Australian safety standards, and neither is there any responsibility for the safety of the persons who end up using those goods.
If something goes wrong, you could damage or destroy other (more expensive) goods, damage/destroy your house, injure/kill other people in the vicinity, and suffer injury or loss of life yourself.
If the cause of a fire or other catastrophic event is determined to be electric/electronic goods that you've bought from China, and those goods are shown in the investigation not to meet Australian safety standards, there won't be any insurance cover, either.

·9 months agoI have no idea what you bought but if sandy is right and it is something from China that is potentially dangerous, thank your lucky stars the seller has not agreed to sell you something more expensive.
What you have asked to do though is interesting in that I am not quite sure how a seller would manage it on ebay. They may have to cancel your first sale then sell the other item to you. Whether they can just charge more then upgrade to a different item, I don't know. I would have thought they could risk an item not as described claim.
Sometimes a seller might be able to change something to a different size or colour, but changing to a totally different item at a different price might be harder.
But you don't tell us any relevant facts, such as how soon after the sale did you contact the seller?
Once you pay for an item, it is possible a seller could have it wrapped and addressed within hours. I have actually had some items I've bought posted within a couple of hours of buying.
Once something is on its way, it is too late to change things.
It is a shame the seller has not got back to you though, even if only to tell you that a change is not possible.

·9 months agoThe seller with the 82% feedback mostly sold unbranded/knock off electrical charges for batteries etc
Numerous warnings in the feedback the items were dangerous knock offs drop shipped from China and negs saying the seller doesn't reply to messages and sometimes does not send items at all
High time the powers that be cracked down on both sellers and buyers who sell/buy and put others in danger

·9 months agoThe seller is required to ship what you purchased, you can request a cancelation of your purchase but the seller is not obliged to cancel the order.
48hrs since you sent the seller a message, Uhmm!! maybe they don't operate 24/7 and have enjoyed a lovely weekend.

·9 months agoIf it is the seller who last left you feedback, they are selling lethal knock off garbage that the drop ship from China and likely to cause you serious injury or burn your house down
And they have 82% feedback
Unbelievable anyone would be happy to risk their safety and that of those around them by buying such a thing
And then their only concern is the seller didn't reply to a message
No point tagging eBay customer service, eBay rarely read here
Nor are they responsible for your buying choices
