    Sold fake creed fragrance

    Summary: localtranks raised a concern about receiving a fake fragrance they purchased. *casey* and sandypebbles reacted to the situation, but no specific details were provided in their responses.

    Hello Community,

    I am a professional reseller and long-time fragrance collector. I’m sharing this case both as a warning to other buyers and to seek advice on an escalating situation with a seller.

    I recently purchased a bottle of Creed Himalaya (Order 08-14326-70603) that arrived as a blatant counterfeit. I documented the entire unboxing on video and have identified the following technical discrepancies:

    Batch/Product Code Error: The box lot is EN5621Z12. In the Creed coding system, Himalaya must have a product code of 39. This box has 56, which is a known indicator of fraudulent production for this specific scent.

    Mechanical Defect (Atomizer): The bottle features a generic metal atomizer with a visible spring and white ring. Authentic Creed (2021+) uses the specialized "white ball" housing.

    Manufacturing Flaws: The bottle has crude cast molding on the base (not laser-etched), incorrect fonts on the front, and the card inserts are low-quality with no gold embossing or texture.

    The Issue:

    After opening an "Item Not as Described" (INAD) case and providing these technical details, the seller admitted in eBay messages that he was "suspicious" of the item's authenticity before listing it.

    Instead of following eBay's return protocols or offering a label, the seller has spent the last two days ignoring the official dispute while sending me harassing messages. He is now accusing me of "stealing" his property because I followed federal law (18 U.S.C. § 2320) and turned the counterfeit contraband over to the USPS Postal Inspection Service as evidence for their investigation into trademark trafficking.

    My Questions for the Community:

    Since the seller has failed to provide a return label or respond to the formal case for 48+ hours, is there any reason not to ask eBay to step in the second the 3-day window closes?

    How does eBay typically handle sellers who resort to harassment and "theft" accusations when a buyer refuses to mail back confirmed counterfeit evidence?

    I have already reported the seller to eBay Trust & Safety. Any additional advice on ensuring this account is flagged for trafficking would be appreciated.

    Maybe ask on the forum for eBay USA since quoting American federal law is pointless in Australia

    @localtranks

    You've posted on the Australian forum.

    As both you and the seller are in the US and the rules  may be different, I recommend you log out  here and  post your question on ebay.com
