Taking eBay seller to ACCC
Hi,
I am after some advice on how to proceed against a seller on eBay. The amount for claim is small, but I am trying to get the product removed from the market for safety reasons. ACCC requires the ABN/ACN which eBay refuses to provide for "privacy" reasons.
Any idea how to proceed?
Thank you.

Could it be shill bidding? There were 2 bidders with 0 feedback and 100% activity with that seller who kept pushing the price up?

·3 years agoAbsolutely reeks of shill bidding IMO

·3 years agoThe other auctions also have these mysterious bidders with 0 feedback. Very suspicious.

·3 years agoI don't think you could get a finer example of shill bidding of you tried. It's perfect. They stoofed up though, the shill won one of the actions.
I do hope fol-30 comes back to read the replies, and gets their money back.

The action the shill won.....
The auction fol-30 won......
It's the same lump of carp. The interesting thing is, he's used the same shill account to bump up the price for the 3rd auction. He relisted the item a very short time after the auction had ended. To know it's the same shill account you actually have to click on the bidder in the bid results.
4***4(0), the shill who won the auction, shows as a***9(0) when you click on it. 5***9(0) who was one of the shills bumping up the price on the relisted auction, also shows as a***9(0) when you click on it.

·3 years agoI wish I still had the rocks I spray painted gold to use as weights to hold bunches of helium balloons for a 50th party. I left them out for local children to find so all gone now. Damn, I could've sold them on ebay.

·3 years agoHi, i bought 566 grams of gold but it turns out it is brass. I have the same problem without a business name or a phone number there is no way of filling out a report.

At any rate you should open a case for INAD (item not as described). You have 30 days since the last day of the estimated delivery to open a case on eBay and 180 days since the date of purchase to open a case in PayPal if you used it to pay.

·3 years agoIF you have proof that it is brass then why not open a dispute with eBay's MBG for "item not as described" ?
If you try to go through the ACCC you will more than likely run out of time to use eBay's buyer protection....
Edit. Snap Papermoon.

·3 years agoAnd the seller only has fol-30's feedback as a seller, so he had 0 feedback when fol-30 won the auction.
The seller claims he didn't receive the money, but it has obviously to do with Managed Payments.

·3 years agowhy would you buy this? How did you pay?
Listing states it is 18ct from melted estate jewellery but listing details say 0.99999 from Perth Mint. Title says gold nuggets.
566g 18ct = 424g of 24ct gold = 15 ounces (approx)
Gold currently close to A$3,000 per ounce
Means 566g 18ct = approx A$45,000
Too many red flags to even think about bidding.

·3 years agoLook at ABN look up. Just checked it for you
It's registered to Ebay Commerce Pty Ltd
I will be lodging a complaint with them too.

·3 years agoWrong, all payments to sellers are now routed through ebay commerce. Ebay is not the seller so you are wasting your time there.
