The amount of Amazon and OnePass drop shippers on eBay is becoming ridiculous
Summary: e_purchasing initiated a discussion about the increasing number of drop shippers, specifically targeting Amazon and OnePass, on eBay. bestbuyaus and other participants like *casey* and davewil1964 engaged in the conversation but did not provide additional content or viewpoints. The thread appears to express frustration about the situation without detailing specific experiences or solutions.
Ebay is doing a poor job policing the site and vetting sellers and it gives buyers a bad experience.
The site is turning into a dog's breakfast and increasing customer dissatisfaction especially when the buyer orders on eBay and gets an Amazon package.
It is stupidity on the part of eBay for allowing this to continue rampantly. eg buyer gets an Amazon package - are they likely to shop Amazon next time? Perhaps when they go on that site after their delivery and find it 20% cheaper than they paid on eBay.
These types of sellers are not legitimate, they are just opportunists , not holding any stock and charging a premium to process an eBay customer's order on another platform for unsuspecting buyers.
In the whole, eBay shoppers are shopping on the site to get a perceived value of goods and services from eBay sellers (and assume/trust eBay are endorsing a seller as "reputable" or "trusted") and don't shop on other sites in conjunction,
Yes the old adage is "buyer beware" but come on eBay, you have a responsibility here

·3 months agoSomeone needs to have time to refer to ACCC
Maybe that should be you, given it is allegedly impacting your business. The time you are not spending picking, packing and posting 1100 items per year should be sufficient.

·3 months agoFurther to the above eBay policy regarding drop shipping is below.
I am sure sellers are not pre purchasing from kMart.
Dropshipping is permitted on eBay, provided you have pre-purchased the stock and comply with the guidelines in our Third-party fulfilment policy. For example, listing an item on eBay and then purchasing the item from another retailer or marketplace that sends it directly to your customer is not allowed.

The example you gave shows feedback mentioning 'items sent from Kmart' repeatedly.
Take away their 1002 eBay automated positive feedback and their % would be a lot lower.
They may be registered in AU but........
For their non Kmart items, all a buyer has to do is have a look at the AliEpress, Alibaba and Temu (with free postage) sites and they'll see where the items are sourced !

·3 months agoYes. One Pass is a real problem. Sellers drop ship through Kmart and pay no shipping cost. We used to sell 1200 of an item per year on eBay and that is now down to around 100 due to eBay not policing the drop shipper policy where sellers have to declare the item will be purchased from a 3rd party and shipped from said 3rd party.
Have chased up with One Pass but they are not concerned that they are paying shipping for thousands of low value items from single sellers and losing money on every sale.
Someone needs to have time to refer to ACCC as this could come under predatory pricing and no doubt be illegal in that One Pass do not properly monitor the misuse of its program.
Item number 376248725000 is a perfect example where the seller also makes next to nothing.

·3 months agoIt is an example of a seller so rubbish they still have horrid feedback despite have over 1000 positives automatically given by eBay with zero buyer input

That is why I say to people to take notice of the negs from actual buyer's, rather than eBay's opinion
Now even more so with eBay's automated feedback meaning the seller is only 'most reputable' because eBay given them that (false) reputation with the bot handing out green dots
The seller above is a perfect example
Over 1000 automatic green dots for a shody as seller
