what does 'private listing - bidders' identities protected' mean?
I just bid on this item twice with the phrase 'private listing - bidders' identities protected'.
Even my bids are now hidden- I do not trust this secrecy and I won't be bidding again unless this is removed.
Seems very much like a price ramping ploy and even if it isn't then it fails because it LOOKS like it.

·3 years agoYes I agree, who's to know if the seller isn't bidding to ramp up the bidding prices.

·3 years agoFor a start, a seller can't bid on their own stuff
AND even if the seller had another ID and was using that to bid with, nobody would know it's 'them under another name' 'bumping up the bids'
Most sellers are'nt stupid enough to risk eBay closing all their accounts down for the sake of 'more bids', seeing as they would be banned from ever opening another account again
Ten years is a long time to wait to disagree

2014. Years ago. So long ago that the corpse has gone from black putrefaction right through butyric fermentation and into the dry decay of death’s skeleton.
Please… let the dead thread rest in peace. Why not start a new thread if shill bidding is a matter of concern for you now, so that it can be discussed in a relevant way…?
