Why cant buyer block sellers from seeing their listing?

Summary: The discussion centered around the question of why buyers can't block sellers from seeing their listings. Various participants, including cyberweb, *casey*, lezned-toycollector, and sandypebbles, engaged in the conversation, but specific details of each point are not available. The overall topic suggests a need for buyer privacy regarding seller visibility of their listings.

Sure sellers can block buyers from seeing their listings, but not the other way around!

Do I need to add every dodgy seller I have dealt with, to a "Do Not Buy From This Seller List?" and check every time I find an item I am interested in buying with that list?

It just not fair for buyers, not fair at all!

Well I haven't sold anything in a while on eBay, so they may have changed this by now I guess (according to you) so that's even worse as a seller, btw no need to yell.

Typing in caps is yelling, typing in bold is not

Not according to 'me', eBay have always permitted sellers to have more than one selling account

I don't make eBay rules/policies, but feel free to look, since you believe it's 'according to me'

And btw, not all sellers who have more than one selling ID are dodgy scammers

But it is one of the habits of dodgy sellers to have numerous IDs among other habits(hopefully underling to emphasise is more acceptable to you than bolding)

Just as dodgy sellers hope nobody checks feedback before buying

Just as dodgy sellers who hopes people who don't bother to check feedback also hopes said buyer can't be bothered to open a dispute

Just as dodgy sellers hope buyers who can't be bothered checking feedback will have the attitude 'I had to because ebay let me'

    Of course eBay don't care

Buyers shouldn't follow suit and also not care

    Yep, you do

May I add, many dodgy seller have more than one selling ID, so even if you did block dodgy seller xyz, dodgy seller xyz also has other accounts as seller mop seller q.109 and seller 101145

Honestly, looking at feedback takes less than 10 seconds

Sellers are unable to block buyers from "SEEING" their listings

The problem is not all buyers search for sellers, they search for items, and what I am suppose to write down, the many sellers to exclude each time I want to buy and item? I don't think so, this is the problem here.

It's up to you but using Advanced Search isn't a lot different  to using a regular Search, except that you can block your bad sellers' items from  showing in your Search.

    Advanced Search

Enter the keywords of the items you're searching for

Tick any other boxes  you choose

Exclude Sellers - Keep an up to date list of bad sellers  and enter ( I'd copy and paste them)  into the bo,

    Click Search

I buy so much stuff, my bad seller list will be long, I'm just trying to get it to eBay to wake up and save many of us having to get caught up in scams before they happen.

So what did they say when you messaged them? Have they replied yet?

As they generally don't take any notice of member's suggestions, I'm guessing the reply won't be anything you want to hear.

You seem to have overlooked the questions in my previous post. So I ask again... what did eBay say when you messaged them? Have they replied as yet?

What, you think I'm going to get an answer from AI, a bot? do you want me to tell you my conversation with a bot? I tried and gave up taking to a bot, there is no such thing as talking to real humans on eBay anymore, don't you know that?

Those replies would be from the dodgy sellers you messaged, not eBay

You can easily tell they are 'Chinese' because their feedback page would show they are registered in China and have numerous negs to say they lie about shipping from Australia or they are registered here and have numerous negs about drop shipping from China

In either situation, there is no reason to play along with their games, ignore the nonsense and open and follow through with an item not received dispute regardless of what a dodgy seller 'says'. Don't go along with it

If you go to Advanced Search, scroll down to Sellers, you'll see the  drop down box option  to include or exclude sellers from your search.
