Why can’t I get a straight answer from you?
I’ve been trying for hours to resolve an issue about an item that I purchased but haven’t received. I’ve contacted the seller and they directed me to open Amo received case with eBay and I’ve spent around 3 and a half hours going in circles . So I guess I’m not getting a refund then! So much for money back guarantee!!! But HEY!!! They made me a community member now!!!

Why do you see that as a bad thing?
Plus since you have not asked other members before now, how could anyone here possibly give you a straight answer?
It does not take hours to open an item not received dispute, then you follow through with it if the issue is not resolved to your satisfaction by the seller

I'm surprised the seller's asked you to open an item not received claim through eBay's Money Back Guarantee
https://www.ebay.com.au/help/policies/ebay-money-back-guarantee-policy/ebay-money-back-guarantee-policy?id=4210
What is the reason you've been unable to open the dispute ?
Does the item show as delivered, which could be a fake tracking scam.
That's harder, though not impossible, to receive a refund
Is it past the 30 days so you've left it too late ?
If yes, you have 180 days from payment to open an item not received claim with Paypal, if that's how you paid.
Or as a last resort, you could try a chargeback through your bank.
What is the item number ?
