Why does EBAY force you to leave a review then ask for feedback.
EBAY keep forcing me to leave a review on items then they ask for leave feed back. This is not right as it is not an option any more. It may come down to not leaving any feed back at all as i do not always want to leave a review.

·1 year agoI would have thought that feedback did matter to the majority of sellers. Many sellers may not care one way or the other if a particular buyer does not give any. That would be especially so if they are established sellers with a good track record.
But all sellers should care about negative feedback, for instance. Better to get none off a buyer than a neg.
And feedback does matter to a new seller. I know when we were starting out, we were keen to get a good track record established.
As a buyer these days, I tend to look at feedback first, before I buy. Only the fairly recent feedback over the last 12 months, I don't go back years.
But if someone had a good track record but no feedback at all in the last 12 months, that would ring the caution bell in my head.
So to that extent, it is important for sellers to at least get some feedback from time to time.

·1 year agoWe only have to look at the amount of people who come here up in arms they bought from a scammer and got scammed
Those scammers have pages of red dots, yet the person who comes on to complain, very few have themselves left a red dot
Saying that, I have never on my other account been forced to review anything before leaving feedback

·1 year agoI don't think I have either. I don't tend to buy from ebay as much as I used to (so many other choices online these days) but I did get a small item recently so when I do feedback on that in a week or so, I'll watch to see what happens.
Don't want to do feedback quite yet as I want to see if it works first!

OP1 year agoHi, I click on feed back and it takes me directly to review.
It will not let me cancel out of that.
So the only option is to leave a review then it allows the feedback page to load.
As you advised maybe i should not leave any feed back etc. and just ignore the ebay messages requesting feed back

Feedback may make little or no difference to sellers of cheaper items but it's very important to sellers of high value items.
It shows them to be trustworthy and sets them apart from the scammers

·1 year agoI disagree. I couldn't care less if buyers leave me feedback. Scammers get red dots - that sets them apart from trustworthy sellers 😉
I also didn't advise anyone to leave no feedback. I, in fact, stated that doing so is optional.

·1 year agoLeaving feedback is optional, and it makes little to no difference to the majority of eBay sellers whether you do or dont.
Personally, I leave feedback regularly and have never written a review for any product.
How exactly are they forcing you to write a review? More information please.
