wrongly boxed items sent
I have tried to purchase a mini bench drill from 3 different sellers now , and when it arrives it a mini bench sander ! The box clearly states its a drill but its not inside. The sellers try's there hardest to get you to keep it offering a $10 refund , item cost $75, So you get it for $65. but the sander only cost $52, Not so daft these sellers hey ! has any one else had these issues with wrongly boxed items ?

❝Don't misuse returns
Not allowedeBay can and will prevent a buyer from being able to make return/refund requests if they’ve used the MBG too frequently in a manner that indicates abuse of such protection. Banks do the same thing with customers who make excessive chargeback requests.

OP2 years agoIf i get a 1000 wrong items sent me I will open a case for return i will send them back regardless

Paypal will do exactly the same thing as will your bank on a chargeback...................

·2 years agoIt isn’t personal; eBay will do this as risk mitigation. It depends upon whether you are perceived by eBay as a risky buyer… and if you continue to buy repeatedly from sellers when common sense indicates that they pose a higher than normal risk of sending you an item that you will need/want to return under the MBG, then you will at some point no longer be covered by the MBG. In other words, eBay will make you assume the risks of your buying behaviour, rather than them.
To avoid the situation from reaching that point, make smarter decisions when you buy. Do not think to yourself, “It’s probably a fake or the same wrong item, but I’ll buy just in case it turns out all right, because if it does go wrong, I won’t be out any money because eBay will protect me from my risky choices.”
Think instead, “If it goes wrong, I will have to wear it. No refund, no return, just a dodgy sander that I don’t want and which isn’t safe.”
This is not a drill.

OP2 years agoI see your point but i do want a drill, i have ordered it again from another seller and asked in advance is it a drill inside the box and they said " yes " so i do hope it is a drill

·2 years agoI tried finding the weight for the drill in the listing to compare it to the sander which is around 2kgs but had no luck. Does the item come in a printed box or does it have a stick on label. I just wonder if it was packed wrong or labelled wrong.

·2 years agoAll the seller accounts, selling at $75 and $100 post, seem to be related and are all registered in China.
The price of the sander unit, varies from $52 to $65 depending on the size of the motor, with $100 post.
Looks like a packaging issue, with the drill units now showing as out of stock, but the sander units still available.

And check who they are buying from before paying
People who buy from dodgy sellers (and keep doing so) and who play with dodgy sellers instead of opening disputes are the daft ones

OP2 years agoThese are Australian Sellers with high feedback, all these items wrongly boxed have come direct from china, to Australian warehouses these are not checked by the seller, just sent to buyers, i have lodged a return, but sellers drag it out and hope you take the $10 refund

·2 years agoHow do you know they are Australian sellers? Is it because it says AU seller in the picture? Is it because it says AU stock in the title? Is it because in the listing it says it's located in Sydney? Click on the seller's feedback and see where they are REGISTERED. That will give you a much better idea of where they are.
Why did you initiate a return and not open an item not as described dispute? Initiating a return means you have to pay return tracked postage (probably to China), and there is no guarantee of a refund. See if you can open an item not as described dispute. If you can't, then take the $10 and resell the sanders.
Plus, as already mentioned, stop buying from dodgy sellers. It's obvious that you've bought from the same seller, just under multiple different accounts.

Or that their feedback is remotely decent
The return address could be bogus
Or a 'warehouse' for an overseas seller which is not set up to receive returns
(search the forum for posts from buyers who had the same outcome when they did'nt want to open the correct dispute) re 'return addresses'
But you seem happy enough to trust a seller (s) who has already sent the wrong thing three times, so no point people wasting their time

·2 years agoAh, can you see a trend here, yes it is a seller issue, but a buyer who keeps buying the same thing knowing it will most likely be wrong, well I dare not comment further

·2 years agoI am glad you knew to get the full refunds on the first two purchases but I am surprised you went back for a 3rd and if I read rightly, a 4th round.
Obviously, this is an item where you need to tread carefully. Not only are you constantly getting the wrong things, but you are after an electrical item and you know it is coming direct from China.
I know most of our stuff is from China but hopefully the items in our retail stores at least conform to Australian standards. Even then, some dodgy things get through, as we know. The odds of getting an unsafe item increase when they are slipping into the country one by one via an ebay purchase.
If something isn't working out for you, stop trying to do it the same way over and over. You have had 3 out of 3 strikes with getting a satisfactory drill so maybe look in Bunnings or some other retail store where you cans ee what you are getting before you pay. You may pay more but you'll avoid the rigmarole.
My worry for you is okay, so far you have had 2 refunds from ebay. Now you are in the process of applying for a 3rd, all in a short amount of time. I have no idea if there are any limits on claims but you may get flagged as a problem buyer if you keep making claims every week or so.

·2 years agoPersonally I wouldn't be buying a drill that is being directly shipped from China.
A few things spring to mind -
Not to Australian Standards;
Therefore no insurance for any damage caused when it blows up;
I know 230 volts through the heart won't kill me - do you?

It is a fact that a buyer who does that numerous times over will be flagged by eBay for having done so
I don't work for eBay, nor do I make the rules
You want to keep buying the same thing from the same sellers and expect different results and because you are going to keep opening the same cases over and over, it will get eBay's attention
So when it happens, don't claim 'you did'nt know'

·2 years agoeol, I'm pretty sure the OP is dealing with Chinese (Teflon) sellers, so it's very unlikely that any action will be taken against them.
The OP however, as said before, will be very likely to get their ability to open MBG cases curtailed if they carry on opening cases.
