OP2 years agoThanks everyone for your replies. I have no idea what I have thus the reason for asking where to get an opinion on value. I presume they were 1982 because they were purchased when their demise was announced. The serial numbers are consecutive but I don't have the notes handy to check who signed(?) them or the actual year of printing. I will need to do a bit of research now that I have some clues as to what might be valuable.

·2 years agoYes, even consider taking them to an ''expert'' for an evaluation, there is a huge variation in price, but if it is a coin / money shop, take it with a grain of salt as they still want to make a cut.
But as an indication I was at the Melbourne money fair a couple of weeks back looking at a certain note, and someone whispered in my ear, that the same note was over at the other stall for a couple of hundred less, so off I trotted, and it was actually $300 less, , but I got the dearer one, because it was actually most likely worth significantly more.

·2 years agoThe question lacks enough information, if it was a bundle of 1966 $1 notes it would be $10000 plus, if it was a bundle from 1982 it would be in the hundreds. Its like asking how much a Holden car is worth without stating the year and model lol

·2 years agoI actually never said anything about serial numbers , all I stated is that without knowing the year the notes were printed, no one can give a value on a bundle of $1 notes

·2 years agowhen it was announced that $1 coins would replace notes, many people went to the banks and got bundles of 100.
I have several friends who did so.
There are literally thousands of 100-note-bundles out there.
I would think that timing is important when deciding when to sell, the old supply and demand lesson.

Not sure why the ' brick ' keeps harping - he/she has already said - not my forte.

DBP were issued out of order. Most note collectors believe the note issuers were testing papers.

·2 years agoI would hope if a potential buyer has enough money to spend on a worthless investment they have enough sense to search the sold list to see it is 4 times more than other sales this year. 225754161477

·2 years agoSo your valuation is obviously not based on any knowledge of the collectors market, , Ebay is not the judge of value of items. Thats not research

·2 years agoI like how you leave certain things out to suit your narrative. But that is expected and most people would have clicked the link to the auction site showing a sold result.
I will say I am only basing my results on a quick search with no knowledge on the subject so I may be overlooking something that makes these more valuable than others. Plus I'm not looking at these from a collectors point of view but one of return on investment. As a collector of certain items I still expect them to increase in value.

You are also assuming that item wasn't sold to cheaply.

·2 years agoAuction site lists a $500-$1000 value sold for $750. Ebay sells for $500 today what am I missing. Its a stack of $1 notes with no way of making any return unless you pick it up in a bulk lot from a deceased estate and sell it off for a profit on what you paid.
What is you opinion of the value?
