·1 month ago · EditedI feel strangely as though he’s a personal friend, and the loss is personal. I’ve never met Sam Neill but something about him is - was - so real and so immediate.
This is terribly sad.
Sam, you ex-Nigel, I hope there is a farm in heaven for you, and plenty of dogs and pigs and grapes and the sheer enjoyment of being in whatever state it may be.

·1 month agoHe had cancer for a long time (a form of leukemia I think, and quite a nasty one). He did respond well to treatment was in remission but knew it would come back eventually.

The wonderful José van Dam, who possessed one of the most superb and beautiful voices the world has ever known, has passed away. He was also a man of great character, and someone whom I respected deeply.
